No-hassle spacers?

Ok folks… getting there.

installed a 2.5” leveling kit on my ‘23 freedom edition. Next step, 35/12.5 r17s on the factory wheels.

I feel like I need spacers for the wider tires I want to put on, but I have two things I want to avoid:

1) I don’t want too much of an offset (don’t want it to look like a rollerskate)

2) I don’t want to cut down the factory studs.

any thoughts/suggestions on the best options?

what’s the minimum size spacer I can get away with without having to cut the studs?

Synergy 1.75" spacers. I used them for a while. With these, you don't have to trim down the factory studs to fit like you do with 1.5" spacers.

Check your factory aluminum wheels - they should have pockets on the backside, between the lug holes, allowing to clear a slightly protruding wheel stud.
That way, you may be able to get away with a 1” to 1-1/4” wheel spacer. (At least that was the case on my 2023 JL).

I would be careful with using shims; to not reduce the thread count for the lug nut too much. I’ve used them with the steel rims as their thinner structure allowed more thread engagement than the aluminum wheels.

Synergy 1.75" spacers. I used them for a while. With these, you don't have to trim down the factory studs to fit like you do with 1.5" spacers.

With OEM wheels, and many aftermarket wheels, there are relief pockets between the lugs on the backside (mating surface) of the wheel. People have successfully installed 1” and 1.25” spacers without cutting studs down. It all depends on the wheel itself.

That’s what I ended up going with. Should be delivered this week. Plan to have the 35/12.5s on by the weekend. I’ll let you know how it turns out.
