2020 JTR 3.6 31k miles. Got in to go to store, would not start. Turns over, but no start. No prior issues. Vehicle Security Warning Light on. Pulled codes on JScan, U1514-87 came up in Advanced Scan which said engine controller secret code - missing. Disconnected battery, checked fuses/relays and CAN Bus, switched key fob, no go. Thought about the Autostop Eliminator connected to the gateway module. No issues with it, but pulled it anyway to assist with diagnosing. Fixed! Had no problems with the Autostop Eliminator prior. Contacted Autostop, still waiting on reply. Assuming Autostop Eliminator failed? Anyone else have this happen?

I sure hate to hear this. I was considering this purchase after the aux bypass. I don't have an iota of your mechanical ability & would be stuck if this occurred. I'll keep pressing the button.

I’m moving on to SmartStopStart.

Me, first choice - press the button. Free easy, can't break anything
Second choice - device that connects to the back of that button, not the SWG.

Once it becomes habit, muscle memory, you will do it and not even remember pressing that button

Heard back from Jessica Lambert at TRL Automotive who sells the Autostop Eliminator. She was great. Very helpful. Offered to send me a new device at no charge. I declined since I already ordered the SmartStopStart, not that the AS is a bad product, I just need reliability. If the SSS causes a problem, I'm done with SWG plugins!

I have this SSS on mine for nearly 5yrs now. No issues with it.
Is that the one that mounts in-line (Serially) with the button on the dash?

No. Just an in-line without any button.
That's what I mean, it connects serially with the button in the dash. In connects in serial or in line with with the button you use to turn off ESS.

I had the start stop eliminator for my Bronco and the first one I got didn't work and they sent me a new one and it worked fine. Later on they sent out a recall notice stating that some of them had bad firmware installed on them. I have had them installed on all my newer vehicles and never had an issue with them exact for the one time and they fixed it. For the JT I just use the Tazer so I don't use one for it.

Yeah. It's connecting inline with the smaller security gate connector. I think it has a transceiver circuit which automatically send a can-bus signal to keeps the button On/Off.
