We are supposed to focus on driving as the first priority right?
maybe when i was 16, now i'm into steering with my left knee while fixing the defrost plugs with my right hand, sometimes i miss the left hand wave, but that's only when i'm eating a cheeseburger while doing items 1 nd 2.

Well I've seen quite a few look the other way just to "not" see another Jeep. Just today alone probably 15 times. D bags be D bags, I remember all the hate and it's not a Jeep with my XJ and MJ. Then I started to see the same s### show at the TJ/LJ, YJ after the JK's came out and still do. Hell I wave at so many people it's a habit I got being from Midwest living in rural / farming community. The town I graduated H.S. from population was 1100 people and at the time I knew everyone's or their family back then.
Oh and about 5or 6 JT owners in my area don't wave and even look away to not make eye contact. I do see quite a few JT's around now.

I tend to notice that modified Jeeps are more likely to wave back, and in the country I get more waves than in the city. And unfortunately my fellow ladies are less likely to return a wave than the guys. (Although when I do get a wave from a woman it’s usually far more enthusiastic :P, so there!)

Sometimes people are just distracted. I’ve decided not to get offended if I don’t get a wave in return. Hell, I know I’ve missed a few waves myself. We are supposed to focus on driving as the first priority right?
Drove past a woman in a nice lifted blue JT and got my most enthusiastic wave yet.

I wonder if waving resumes when tops and doors come off....
So true. I saw it all the time during the summer, but honestly even I just kind of forget when it is closed up. Summer I am on top of it. I feel like it loses the fun if your hand is inside the car.

Like others have said it seems to only be modded jeeps. I find older ones and two doors are more likely to wave. Color matched everything Sahara, I don't even bother waving unless they have doors or something off. They never do.

Funniest time I forgot to wave was when I passed by my dad and didn't realize it was a jeep until I had driven past, luckily he somehow didn't notice me at all. lol

I would say it's about 50/50 but up where I live you can say hi to someone and they just look at you with no reaction at all. So the Jeep wave is still strong in comparison.

Was thinking about a movie or sitcom episode, getting a ticket for “Public Indecency”. Something you’d see on Seinfeld.
Jerry: “You didn’t wave”?
George: “My mother made me a sandwich. I didn’t have a free hand”.

A snobbish suburbanite takes a weekend drive up into a mountain town where the police and just about everyone drives a Jeep. Police radio and community social media lights up about this city slicker’s rudeness not waving. Gets a ticket, goes before the Judge who sentence him to community service hours. Standing on the corner Waving to traffic with a sign that reads: my car’s a Jeep ?.
Upon completing his community service hours he returns home and trades in the Jeep. For what... a Mercedes. Endless days of repair bills.
Crime pays.

I’ve been a truck driver since 2012, I just now started waving at other drivers.
Maybe there’s just a bunch of new jeep owners.

First time Jeep owner. I have been surprised at all the waves I have been getting. I always wave back if I haven't waved first. One thing I notice is I don't see any waves from the Renegades, Cherokees, GC, etc.

I am pretty sure this is a wrangler thing. It is for me. But I'm a new jeep owner. I waive and get waived at by Land Rover Discovery drivers. Although our wave is more like a support group as in "hey how's the oil consumption?" or "hey if your on the road you must have sorted your three amigos - well done!" ?

I'd say close to 70% of people in my area wave. Interestingly it's Wrangler people, never Cherokee people. I've only seen two other JT's in the past couple of months.

This being my first Jeep... during the first few days I definitely was like "who the fk was that?" as people kept waving at me ?
I guess I’m one of those A holes who only waves to CJ/JK/JL variants (yes JT included). They are just easier to spot and I don’t really consider cherokees, GCs and liberties as being in the same culture “wave” group, but hey that’s me. Every once in a while a lifted Cherokee guy will wave and I’ll wave back, but if someone in a 4runner waves, I wave back too lol.
