Jeeps aren't rare anymore. My neighbor has a gladiator. I have a gladiator. The houses on the other sides of us have wranglers. That's 4 houses in a row with a wrangler or gladiator sitting in the driveway.

Going to 4 doors made Jeeps practical and now most middle class suburban dads have one.

We wave in Nebraska! I even have the occasional Compass or Cherokee wave.

Oh , I don’t know, may be a YMMV situation. I wave. Kids think I’m funny and call out if someone waves and I miss it.

I even wonder if people are waving at night when we pass each other. I always recognize Jeep headlights. It’s fun and perhaps a little neurotic.

I wave. Although sometimes I get tired of it. Usually have my right arm on the center console and my left on the bottom of the wheel. So I have to move one of my arms to wave, which isn't a big deal except is seems like every 4th vehicle is a Jeep so I'm constantly flailing my arms around to wave in time.

Live near Houston and get lots of waves . Went to Idaho last summer and no one waved just got crusty looks when I waved.
I live right on the Spring/Houston line and I will agree with this... probably 90% of the time, I get waves back.

Is it because "gladiator" or is it not a thing anymore?
I've waved at a ton of people and they just /ignore.
Even the lifted guys.
What gives?
I get just as many waves in the Gladiator as I did in my JK's. Actually I think it garners a lot of respect and admiration. I definitely get talked to and complimented on it much more than with the wranglers from Jeep owners and others. Fortunately they aint walking up telling me it's pretty like they did with my JKRR

I almost always get a wave.
Maybe those that don't need bigger tires?

Speaking from personal experience, as far as a lot of soldiers are concerned, the Gladiator isn't a Jeep to them. I have told a couple, while smiling, to kiss my ass. It's still young for JTs and give it a couple more years and we will be just as accepted as all other Jeeps.

Just returned to the jeep family with the purchase of a gladiator. I have been surprised by the lack of waving, at least on pavement. I previously had an 89 YJ (sold it around 2003) and remember the wave at like 90-95%.

If I don't wave first, I'd say here in CO I'm getting about 5% wave. If I wave first, most will wave back. I just assumed it has to do with volume; there are a ton of jeeps here, of all models and builds. Maybe everyone got tired of waving all the time.

On dirt I tend to wave at anyone in a truck, and almost everyone waves back. City, county, and forest service employees seem to LOVE to wave back.

It's pretty situational. I work downtown next to a college campus, so there is literally a Jeep parked on every block and another circling looking for parking. If you drive by the greek area it's 2x many.

The college kids don't seem to wave, but at least the lifted ones will wave back. The others are mostly looking down at the phone in their lap. I still give them a wave, nobody seems to have taken offense so far.

If I am in a neighborhood or just on a 2 lane road I am much more likely to get a wave.

I definitely find myself holding back when I'm driving something else.
