Do we wave at ALL Jeep nameplates, including the Grand Cherokee, Compass and Renegade? Or just the Jeep looking Jeeps?

Jeeps aren't rare anymore. My neighbor has a gladiator. I have a gladiator. The houses on the other sides of us have wranglers. That's 4 houses in a row with a wrangler or gladiator sitting in the driveway.

Going to 4 doors made Jeeps practical and now most middle class suburban dads have one.
Yup, I wave but it can get tiring.
There are FAR more Jeeps around than there are any of my other vehicles that also do the wave thing.

I wave to a ton more Jeeps than I see and wave to other motorcycles, and I commute on my bikes.
Its a real rare chance I see and wave to another Miata.

My wife even made up and little abacus type thing to track jeeps/waves on our trips. Over a long weekend trip it racks up numbers well over a hundred.

I for one would be happy if fewer people waved. Since Jeep's have become so mainstream, waving lost its uniqueness in my opinion. I've owned Wrangler's since 1998, way before they got so popular. It was rare to see another TJ or YJ on the road so, ya waved when you saw one. It was sort of like a club (or cult, depending on your definition) then. Around here in Michigan, so many people lease or work for FCA (getting a discount) so JL/JT are all over. I only wave now at Jeeps with lifts or older CJ/YJ/TJ ones.

I would say 80-90% wave especially if I wave first. Gladiators wave right at 100% of the time. I do sometimes miss a wave now and again if I'm on a 4 lane in the city. I also get the occasionally roll down the window and chat until the light turns green. I don't thing I have ever driven something that get so many positive comments!

I wave because I like to wave (and my boys do to). And I gotta be honest, most of the time, I can't see if they wave back.

I used to wave when I had my 2-doors. At that time I knew every jeep in town and knew that those who drove jeeps did so at the risk of comfort and because they loved them. Now with 90% of the wranglers being 4 doors people who just want to be cool and because it is semi-functional they can get away with it. Frankly my arm got sore.

Just wrangler and gladiator as part of that for the most part. Will if I see a modded older cherokee though (late 90s-early 2000s)

My kids decided that all the other ones are "fake jeeps" lol. their criteria is doors and roofs that come off.

I got my JT last spring. The dealership basically used a 6' pole to hand me the keys and said they hoped I enjoyed my new vehicle. I didn't understand the jeep wave until I found this forum.

So how many other new jeep owners don't know what they don't know?
