This thread follows the adventure of 5 NoVA Jeepers members as we head west to enjoy the trails many folks here have in their backyard. It's been 18 months in the planning but finally begins. We are traveling from Virginia to the Rubicon to start, some driving, some trailering. Rubicon will be August 7,8,9. 4 JTs and a JKU.
We will move on to SW Colorado to run trails and passes around Silverton Aug 11,12,13 before finishing the trip with Holy Cross on the 14th. Since the idea first emerged we lost some participants due to life getting in the way, 3 members have changed rigs, but the spirit is the same. Hope to update regularly by myself and the others with what we’re up to each day.
Forum members include @VA6489 @3VOLVE @Kindafearless and @taintedsaint .
Damn. @40x40 and I are doing holy cross on the 11th and then heading to Moab. So close. Unless you want to do holy cross before silverton.

Badass trip! I’m from Nova but moved to Vegas in 13’ it’s nice have trails in the backyard. It’s even better not having mud like back east.

On the road in the morning, little over packed but need to keep COMCINHOUSE happy. 21 JTRDon 39s and Accuair.

I've been on the fence about the accuair system. Haven't seen enough people wheeling with it. How was it on the Rubicon? Also, do you carry a spare BFG anywhere?

ACCUAIR system is great on the road and lightly loaded. Running the Rubicon fully loaded with RTT, Rack, Solar Shower and Fridge with camping gear It needed better shocks and stronger rear sway bar.
Wheeling light load the raise and lower option is fantastic to help clear obstacles or give you that bit of height you need to get unstuck. i have towed with it a couple times now and it works well to keep the truck level.

I think in a light to no load scenario the system works as advertised. With my heavier loading it leaves me wanting.

Will be removing the system this winter. If you are interested I will offer it up for 1/2 retail. PM me if interested.

Thank you for the kind words. Will make some changes before the next cross country trek.
Scans Air Suspension. Did not live up to expectations.
Long arms and possibly coil-overs going forward.

Finally have some time to catch up on my reporting of our adventure.

The Rubicon Trail: The scenery changing from the start, through the Gate Keeper and all the way to Buck Island Lake blew me away! The trails were challenging and there was a certain sense of peace being out there, both in the changing scenery and conquering each obstacle.
