At our street rod Tuesday AM coffee, a friend did what he often does, brings us things from 100+ years ago and passes them around to see who can guess.
I was almost spot-on, the guy next to me got it right, the next fellow over guessed: "tap shoes for dancing cows".
So if anyone guesses that's what these are - no, they aren't tap shoes for dancing cows.

ox shoes for ice. In the days of cutting blocks of ice from frozen lakes, etc. - and ox pulled the loads of ice blocks.
