Reminds me of the movie Fargo.
My dad was a medic in WW2 too. When I fell off my bike and broke my elbow, I got a smack for falling. I guess it was a similar teaching method. Don't fall off your bike.I got PTSD from that shit........Dad was a medic in WW2. When I would get cut. He would put it on heavy and rub it in. In his way of thinking. It was a teaching moment. Not to get cut.
Dad never hit me. But he could lower his voice and make it sound like it's coming from his toes. Put the fear of God into me. Mom on the other hand. She tried to kill me a few times with whatever was in her hand or near by. LOLMy dad was a medic in WW2 too. When I fell off my bike and broke my elbow, I got a smack for falling. I danced with a 60’s era “hippie leather belt” once…Dad never hit me. But he could lower his voice and make it sound like it's coming from his toes. Put the fear of God into me. Mom on the other hand. She tried to kill me a few times with whatever was in her hand or near by. LOL
It's been in the 105-115 here lately. The humidity has been killer at 70% plus. That's what gets to me - I go outside and in minutes, I could actually wring out my shirt. Sweat doesn't evaporate well. We've all been hearing "Heat Index" a lot this summer, but what are the factors behind it?
I always thought it was simply heat and humidity.
That turns out to be far from the truth.

Just a few of the assumptions

Essentially "Heat Index" is a bunch of needlessly complex guesswork. I like to keep it simple. We've all been hearing "Heat Index" a lot this summer, but what are the factors behind it?

Corn sweat, is that like when I get the “meat sweats?”It's been in the 105-115 here lately. The humidity has been killer at 70% plus. That's what gets to me - I go outside and in minutes, I could actually wring out my shirt. Sweat doesn't evaporate well.
I was out to do some of the testing for Bestop on my sunrider today and just a few minutes out, sweat was running down by head and face into my eyes and dripping onto things. My seats were wet with sweat.
We have crazy humidity this time of year due to the corn sweat - it's a real thing and it's worse outside of the cities and urban areas.
