We had a cat the would bring live rabbits into the house. Turn them loose. Then chase them. First wifey would freak out. Said you wanted a cat. You put up with it.
LOL! This is Sarge, our Wire Haired Fox Terrier. He was about 7 months old when he got his 1st taste of Squirrel. Thankfully he didn't bring it in through the dog door. However I no longer have a cat problem in my back yard and the rats my neighbors seem to complain about don't come in the yard either. Oddly enough the Squirrels haven't learned not to play the game.
I 100% agree with your position. Wife brought home our last cat and I made my positon clear. I will not feed, nor deal with the litter box in any way... and never did. That cat and I had a love/hate relationship, we loved to hate each other.
My Grandparents took in a black lab dog that was left behind when some neighbors moved out. He was a pretty cool dog but would occasionally kill and bring back small animals and leave them on the front door steps as "gifts" for my Grandmother to discover. Mostly consisted of rabbits and possums but one time he brough back the carcass of a water moccasin snake and that is when my Grandmother lost her shit and about had a heart attack.
