Dude Moon Boots were one of those iconic things from the 80s. That was before the rainbow had another meaning. Want to know why they were popular? This ad says it all.. they were cheap. I swear every kid had a pair or by Jr High we had waffle stoppers aka stoner boots where I lived, so they could march into the woods and come back smelling like hippie lettuce. ;)

I grew up in GA. If we got lucky, we got out of school one day because we got a few inches of snow. We put our feet in bread bags and put our shoes over them. Lol

We did actually get a foot of snow two years in a row. 1992 and 1993. Both in March.

I grew up in Ct. In the 80’s, moon boots would have been a dream!
Like @NC_Overland we uses bread bags over our socks.
I used bread bags over the hand grips on my motorcycles so my hands would stay dry. Stuff newspaper up the pants legs to stay dry and keep the wind out. Newspaper across the chest for the same reason.
