I like those Firestone Destination tires, how are they on the road? Did you lift it like you were talking about?

Nope, I didn't do the leveling kit.....not sure if i ever will either. I will admit they look awesome on the jeep and i get complemented EVERY time someone sees me getting out of it.....but i did loose ride quality...the load range E from the load range C is a huge difference.......i didn't think it would be as drastic of a change. if i didn't LOVE how much better it looks with the balloon tires, i would go back to get that ride quality back for sure. but i'm settling for cosmetics over ride at this point lol.

Here’s some food for thought in regard to tires and gears......
My wife has a 2020 JLU Willys with factory 255/75R17 (32.1”), 8 speed auto and 3.45 gear. As it came from the factory and it drives perfectly.

My 2021 80A JT came with 255/70R18 (32.1), 8 speed auto and 3.73 gear. I just changed it over to 295/70R18 (34.3”). Even with the change in tire size, my effective gear ratio is 3.49, or in other words still a slightly bigger gear than my wife’s JLU has factory.

After changing tire size with Jscan, it shifts and drives great, I still see 8th gear on the highway and country roads.

Honestly, I think a lot of the complaints about poor driving after changing tires and not regearing comes from folks who don’t recalibrate the tire size. That 8 speed auto makes up for a lot when it comes to gearing.

I'm running 285/70-17s with 3.73 gears and no issues at all. Still get around 19.5mpg local driving. I feel no need need to upgrade to 4.10s.

3.73’s with ~35” tires do well enough, you loose a bit of power, but it’s not gutless.
With a 305 width your enemy will be your LCAs and sway bar end links, I’m on a 295/70r18(34.3x11.5) and I am losing some paint on my LCA’s even though I have never felt or heard rubbing, another 1/2” of width on a 305 would make it bad enough to justify spacers or new wheels in my opinion.

My “rub” is more Likely from caked on mud from than the actual tire so there is a chance 305’s would do fine. On flat ground, lock to lock I don’t rub anywhere.

What wheels are you running? I’m also running 295/70R18 but on 18x9 Visions with +12 offset. My tire isn’t even close to rubbing the LCA.

Factory 18” Overland Wheels, aftermarket wheels with the right backspace shouldn’t be a problem on up to 12.50 wide tires

That makes sense with yours being a +44 offset and 7.5 wide vs mine.
