It was brought to my attention that my passenger side tail light is no longer working correctly.

When the vehicle lights are on, the passenger side tail light has the following issues.
1. It is barely bright enough to be visible.
2. Does not light up when vehicle breaks are applied.
3. Does not light up when vehicle turn signal is being used.

What do I need to do to rectify the situation?

I bought them in Nov of 2022. Are they covered under warrantee?

If not still under warrantee, do you have any advice on getting it to work correctly again?

Thanks in advance!

The failures are probably why oracle has the option to buy extended warranties for these taillights on their website.

These tail lights are notorious for failing, pretty much everyone I know who's had these have swapped them out after multiple failures. Not worth having to warranty them multiple times, especially for the cost of these.

I like Oracle, and use other lights from them... but these JT Gladiator tail lights are just terrible from a quality control perspective.

Not to turn this into another bashing session but I had issues with both the oracle headlights and the tinted taillights. They are quite a bit more expensive than the amazon but I've had better luck with those than the oracles. I've lost a lot of confidence in buying their products based on my issues with two different products. My headlights melted within 3 days of having them and my right flush mount taillight stopped working after 3 months. Yes, they have been replaced under warranty but that's besides the point.

Don't think it's a bashing session... people need to be aware of the products to avoid. The Oracle JT tail light issue isn't a one-off, there's tons and tons of videos online of people having non-stop issues with these. Pretty much every off-road YouTuber I watch has had issues with them as well and has stopped using them.

The warranty is great.. but if I need to replace my tail lights multiple times over a few years, I'm just going to buy another brand. I doubt Oracle is going to pay for the eventual ticket I get for a non-functional tail light from a cop having a bad day if I keep running these.

I would love to buy a set, as I think by far they are the best looking option out there. But, over the time I have been on here and the JL forums, I’m reluctant to put my money down for them with so many people having issues. And I would get 2 sets. For mine and the wife’s JLU.
It’s too bad as I don’t have the confidence in them.

Almost picked up a set on sale last month, before even purchasing a new Gladiator. That's how much I love how they look! But couldn't bring myself to do it. That price, with the limit of a 1 yr warranty, paired with consistent negative reviews... can't do it. Which sucks.

They need to stand by their product and increase the warranty, address failures by adjusting design/manufacturing, or drastically decrease price point to offset risk to the customer.

I also wanted the oculus headlights. But again, the price. Not as bad as the tails for what we see in failures.
I went with diode dynamics headlights. 8 year warranty. How can you beat that.

I for one haven’t had any issues with my headlights, I bought them second hand. It’s has been 24,000 miles and almost 3 years with them on.

My right tail light was replaced under warranty.

That’s the extent of my issues and being an early adapter of the tail lights, it seems to be pretty typical - I’d be curious as to the results of the people who got batches produced after they identified the issues with the passenger side tail light.

On the forum, most people seem to dislike Oracle because of “issues”. Some are legitimate hardware failures, others don’t like the idea of using a programmer to make them work or don’t know how to or didn’t expect to - then there’s the lot that say “I went with this brand over that one because that one won’t or isn’t reliable, look at all the complaints” without ever trying it. This forum is an echo chamber of sorts, if you start to complain about how any one part, engine, transmission, etc. are bad you’ll get a whole lot of people agreeing with you. Bash a vendor, you’ll get the same.

Real world? I’ve asked like 5 or 6 people about their tail light experience, no one even knew they were known to fail.

Yea, concentrated arena for bashing... I put the tailights on the wife JL and have had no issues. Put them on my JT and had an issue after some time. Oracle replaced them without question and no issues since. Unfortunately it appears to be a JT computer/CAN bus issue. CAN bus has its quirks and if it doesnt like somethng well..... Seems like its a tossup JT to JT whether the Oracle LED's are going to work in a non-LED equipped vehicle. Of course, using a programmer to set to LED is the cure-all.

This exact issue just happened to me. Put in the claim online and got nothing but crickets. Called today got ahold of a human and a new tail light is being sent out. All is right with the world now, shit will happens but as long as the company stands behind their product and makes things right I have no reason to bash them. They do look A LOT better than stock
