So considering the possibility that there will not be an earth tone color release in 2022 models, I'm considering just ordering a 2021 and grabbing up any incentives which may not be there with the "new" release. Currently I'm driving 2020 Rubicon Gator which I love the color, but really want a diesel. My first reluctance was the fact that I would have a year old truck the day the 2022's are released and the value may reflect that, resulting in a "loss" So this morning I decided to try something and projected future value of two vehicles, same options same mileage, only a year apart in models. For this I plugged in a 2020 with 13,000 miles (mine) vs a 2021 with the same. I was very surprised to see trade in value was separated by $85. That's crazy to me, I guess the "older" truck with low miles makes up for the year difference. So in theory if there's multiple incentives out there to move the 2021 stock, you may make out in the long run to grab one today even if it means ordering the right vehicle from the factory. If I only knew for sure there wasn't going to be a Gator or Mojave Sand tone color in 2022.....
