I just tried on the way home… I really have to scrunch down and try to touch with my elbow… and I end up hitting the console way before the seatbelt…
Its me driving with my arms at the side or bottom of the wheel and my elbows tucked in... Likely a result of driving sports cars/formula race cars.

What are you doing with your hands or arms that you keep hitting the seat belt receiver? My right hand is usually on the steering wheel or the shifter.
-or elbow on the center console with hands on the wheel...

the steering wheel is all the way down and extended (towards me).
That's the problem. I am 5'11" with the seat all the way back but I have the steering wheel pushed away from me. Do that and no more elbow problems.
You've created your own problem by dropping the wheel down and having it close to you.

Guilty.

Yup, race car days...

In a race/formula car you want the wheel as low as possible and I set the distance away from me so that at the furthers point (top of the wheel) my wrist rests on the wheel so i have full articulation at any point in the turn of the wheel...

I do the same, but just street racing when young and dumb and scca. I rest my wrist on top as well. Sounds like the seat is reclined too far if your arm is bent that far to hold the bottom but the wheel needs to be that close to reach your wrist with arm extended on the top.

You have to change your seating position. Move your seat up, rise the steering wheel, and closer. This isn't a formula car. You have to adapt to the vehicle. I do trackdays and a Group C driver.

I would not disagree... The issue is my legs are proportionately long (maybe my arms too) for my height. I wish I could move the seat back 2.5" more than the max from the factory. I get knee pain... I cant wear hiking boots to drive because the soles are too thick. If im hiking ill wear thin sole shoes for the drive and then change... Now im really sounding all princess-like!

I'm at 6'1" and haven't had an issue. I installed Desert Does It 1.25" seat jackers as one of my many day-two mods. Rocks me back a bit for thigh support and added roominess. This plus a dead pedal are the most important comfort mods for me. Just not sure if it would help your elbow though.

I'm 66 yrs old, 6'2". 200 lbs. Right hip has been replaced. Both knees have torn MCL's and ACL's. Pins in my left foot. 14 broken bones. Gone through 11 surgeries to keep me together. You want to talk about pain. I wake up in the morning and see what is not hurting. It's a shorter list than what does hurt.
