Sport S plastic bumper, and the fog lights are completely enclosed in a small plastic box for each, behind the bumper.

According to the thread:
The LED SAE J583 Fog Pod & Fog Light Review
some of these aftermarket LED fog lights get up near 170 degrees F at the heat sinks. This heat is being generated inside this small plastic box with little ventilation. And these are semiconductors which should be kept cool to function.

Has anyone had LED fog lights fail? This would be most likely if stopped or driving slowly (little air flow through the box) on a warm day.

They're only intended for use in inclement weather, so warm days shouldn't be a problem...

I've been running DD sc3 max fogs for over a year with no issues.

As the previous poster pointed out, if it's 100 and sunny out, you don't need fogs.

I think you’d see a hundred posts on here about fog lights failing if they did. What’s your concern, are you wanting to upgrade?

I had issues with my Baja Designs Squadron fog lights. Turns out, they pulled too much juice that the stock wiring harness couldn't handle.

I reached out to BD and they sent me a new harness w/ a relay that I wired directly to the battery. Haven't had an issue since.

Fog can occur on warm days. A 175 degrees heater in a little plastic box while traveling 10mph in fog can cause a lot of heating with little airflow. So that's the question. Better designs will probably throttle their output before overheating, and in fact perhaps this occurs without people realizing it.

The plastic Sport bumper puts the fog lights in these plastic boxes. How about the other models?

My Rubicon, I beleive, is set the same way. I run DD SS3 Max in my fog spot and run them as my DRL too in Georgia. No issues. LEDs automatically throttle after about 10 minutes of warming up, and I'm sure they'll throttle as they get hotter but so far no perceivable difference.
