Getting close to installing the MPC aluminum - winch bumper on an 23 JTRD. Looking into options for better fog lights, not impressed with the OEM halogen ones… six months of snow/dark driving conditions up here in the North Country….

Diode Dynamics or Baja Design are excellent

Diode Dynamics SS3, any model will outperform your stock halogen stuff.

I use the SS3’s. This will sound weird, but the “max” brightness model is kind of too bright where there is oncoming traffic or vehicles ahead of you. I know, “too bright” is hard to imagine. Off-road solo and they’re great.

No experience with Baja Design but from all I've heard they are excellent. I went with the Diode Dynamics SS3s in amber and absolutely love them. Attached are pics of just my low beams and them and the SS3s. Mine are adjusted per their instructions and the few times I've had them on and passed other vehicles, I've not been flashed.

i went with diode dynamics elite 3k fogs. bright enough that one time i did not realize my headlights weren't on as the sun set for... well a little too long. No issues with blinding other drivers though, they have a sharp cutoff.

I prefer the selective yellow or amber fogs because they do work better in fog, and (anecdotal experience based on perception that could have been influenced by post-purchase rationalization incoming) i get cut off less by other drivers at night than i did for the year i was running OEM fogs, i assume because the selective yellow lights make me stand out more compared to general traffic.

If I had to do it over and if money were an issue I'd keep the halogen fogs, add a yellow film, and then put the money towards driving lights controlled by the high beams. I now have upgrade LED fogs (BD) and driving lights (also BD).

Originally I added the film to the halogen fogs, and they're fine for seeing the lane markings and improving visibility to others.

I now have amber for the LED fogs, and they're aimed lower than many examples you see from other people, because we tow and the hitch weight forces the aim up higher and the fogs are very hard to adjust in height. Adjusting the halogen headlights is easy.

For the driving lights, mounted on the bumper, I started with clear lights with an amber cover but recently took them off so now they're the BD 5000K clear. S2 Sport driving combo, their most mild light, but they add substantial light to the halogen high beams, throwing both wider and longer.
