I bought my JT Sport S new late August 19. By approximately November my P-brake got more and more slack - I'd call it gradual (not all at once) but rapid - until one day I pulled it and the handle suddenly just came completely up with no limit and no resistance at all.

Took it into the dealer and they said that something had come completely loose and they reattached it.

P brake then was effective again, in fact more effective than even when the truck was new.

Over the last couple of months It's back to extreme slackville. Now it is at the point that even on the slightest incline, pulling the P-brake all the way up will not stop the truck from rolling. I can still feel the slightest resistance of something beginning to engage at the top of the lever movement, but, again, it doesn't create enough braking action to stop rolling on even a barely detectable grade.

Truck only has 6000 miles on it. I don't rack up a lot of miles under any circumstances and COVID means that I am driving even less. I never leave the P brake on accidentally when in motion, so there shouldn't be any unusual wear, and I always set it when parked, so there is nothing that should be stuck from non-use.

Is there a known issue with this? [like is this going to become a once or twice a year ritual?] Is there a way to adjust on my own without having to pull too much apart? I'm not easily mechanically intimidated, it's just that if this is going to be a regular ritual I hope it is simple.

Thanks in advance

Sounds like either the cable or the attachment between it and the lever or it and the brakes is defective. I'd take it back to the dealership and ask them to replace the cable from lever to brakes under warranty if this is the second time it's come loose.
