My truck has 2 door hinges bubbling and these weird clear bubbles on top of tail gate. Is it still covered? It’s a 2020 with 77,xxx miles. From what I see here it looks like it might be, says 5 years or 100,000 miles

I’m seeing some bubbling around hinges as well. 2020 JTR. Has to be a dissimilar metal corrosion issue between steel and aluminum parts.

Need to find a copy of your specific year warranty booklet. Attached is a page out of my 2022 year model gas vehicle warranty booklet and I would imagine 2020 and other years are similar.

If it is a outer painted body panel, surface corrosion is covered for 5 years unlimited mileage so long as it is not stone chip paint damage causing the issue.

My biggest frustration are these bubbles that just popped up on my tailgate. They popped up over night. Anyone seen anything like these before?

Looks like solvent pop. If so, then definitely a defect from factory.

Aluminum hinges and aluminum doors. No dissimilar metals.
Are they aluminum or a magnesium or zinc metal alloy? In any case, it's non-steel based hinges for the doors. The only steel involved is the bolts and the hinge nut.
The bolts are insulated. Looks to me like my door hinges even have insulation between them and the door skin.

This discussion has been had here before, ad nauseam, it's not galvanic action or dissimilar metals in that respect.

And again, I point out the law suites and complaints and recalls and bulletins with Ford and GM on this same type of issue.

My Gladiator isn’t 2 years yet and I have rust bubbles on hood edge and a door edge.
Not rust.

Can you tell me what a solvent pop is? I have what appears to be rust bubbles forming on my hood edge, but no rust visible. Trying to arm myself before going to the dealer. Thanks

Aluminum hoods don't rust. They oxidize.
Paint bubbles can happen on almost any painted steel or aluminum surface, many many reasons, so seeing a paint bubble can be a lot of things. I've had them on my classics if a filler or primer didn't bond or there was an interaction with the paint solvents.
On these, it's typically on the non-steel parts and so far no one has pointed to "THE" solution. You take it in and talk to the dealer.
It's really almost an industry-wide issue on aluminum hoods, seen just like this on GM and Ford trucks, Jeep Gladiators and Wranglers, and so on.
You won't see rust because it's not steel.
If under the bubble there is a white substance or the surface looks white, it's aluminum oxide. If there's no such white, it's possibly a bonding issue, or interaction of materials in some way.
A rough area like that and not a simple "bubble" that's smoother points to a surface issue below the paint.
A smooth bubble is sometimes a bond issue in a spot, or a solvent or material interaction. Paint will "bubble" when the bond is broken or something below pushes it up.
Interesting to me is that on Ford, GM or Jeep, the issues are almost always on or near the edges of the hood. Why not up on the flats? Why not 5" away from the edge? Is it something about the pressing process when the hood is formed around and bonded to the skeleton of the hood?
A reaction of the skin to the frame of the hood? Inadequate paint sealing up under that edge?

I have these appearing all over my vehicle. Your photo is the only one I have ever found that looks exactly like what I have. Would you let me know if you have found a solution or if this is covered under warranty?

Same issue for me. Little bubbles all over the truck. Still under 5 year window so will be heading to dealer at end of Febafter a couple of planned trips. Can’t risk losing truck this month if dealer is going to repair things
