Done lurking and now i can officially post some pics of the JT I'm picking up later this afternoon.
I had test drove an 80th last year but didn't move on it and it was gone. Been looking, maybe too much, at JTs for the last year or so. This one popped up locally so I went down and took a look. Bought it that day
Looks to have maybe a 2" Mopar lift and some Falken Wildpeak AT3w 35s (actually 34.8", LOL).
The dealership only uses "AutoCheck" which isn't detailed at all as far as service records. Does anyone have any alternatives to Carfax for service record detail?

Thanks

In my experience, CarFax is worthless. It’s only as good as the people who decide to report to it - it’s voluntary. If, after you look it over yourself and take it for a solid test drive still feel concerned, take it to an independent mechanic for a look over.

Thanks. That makes sense
I gave it a good look over Saturday and test drove . Everything felt solid. I called him a nd told him I wanted to take for another drive, this time at constant highway speeds, and make sure everything is in good shape

CarFax is useless. AutoCheck can be as well. They are only as good as the data reported to them and often it's wrong.

Take it to a Jeep dealer and have them give it a once-over before you lay down the cash.

The dealership is a large multi-brand place, their 2 main sales are focused on CDJR and Ford. This one is a trade at their Chevy place.
I'll ask them who did their multi-point inspection, if they are worth anything, when I get there

You can ask the dealership to run a maintenance and repair report that have been performed at Jeep/Chrysler dealerships. Good chance it has been serviced at Dealerships through the first couple years of life especially with the three free oil changes and warranty. Nice Jeep!

Thanks. During the initial test drive it rode like stock even with the lift.
AutoCheck showed it was a 1 owner leased vehicle so I would imagine the maintenance was kept up

Before taking ownership, I asked if I could take for another ride. He said no problem. Had the wife with me this time. Sustained highway speeds of 70-75 for a while, then back to the dealership on surface streets. Checked things I didn't on Saturday and all was great.

Welcome to the club, nice Jeep! Mine is sort of a knock off 80th, hated the decal and these were reasonable at the time, but it is a 2021 Mojave, still the 80th year model year!….Jack

Ahh it’s definitely reported by dealers/body shops etc etc. I have had several report services done/repairs made without me knowing.

Autocheck is worthless and Carfax is better but still somewhat questionable. I once found a vehicle I was interested in and the Carfax report showed it as stolen. I called the dealership that listed it and asked them what the story was with the Carfax. They were surprised and called me back later and said it was. Recovered stolen vehicle and they hadn’t had a chance to clean the Carfax yet. I checked the Carfax a few days later and the vehicles history was washed of the stolen history.

the things I look at are the NICB database to see if a vehicle was ever stolen, salvage, flooded. Then I check Carfax taking that with a grain of salt and then if I’m really interested I’ll try to get a maintenance report from the dealer on the vehicles history.
