My dealer has ordered a replacement top for mine free of charge as well. Will report back once I’ve picked it up

So, there is a post on another forum claiming that Jeep has fixed the Premium soft top from making a loud rumble in certain situation by making it 12 mm shorter. Has anyone else heard anything about this? It only happened to me once on a very windy day and only lasted a minute or two, but if I can get a new top and the issue never comes back that would be great. The OP claimed he received his new soft top within a day of ordering.
Anybody with this issue have the driver side latch spontaneously unhook itself and that side of the top start flapping upward?

I was driving ~70mpn into a 40-45mph wind yesterday, when driver side unlatched & the top started to fly open. It frightened me pretty good. We pulled off the road, got the top re-latched. About 5 miles up the road, same wind, same speed, I was passing a semi and driver side popped loose again! I darn near ran into that truck!

When the vehicle is stopped, it takes FAR less force to unhook driver side than it does passenger.

I got my soft top as part of dual top option. My JT was built on or about 10/07. Is there any chance I got one of the older tops? The box that the soft top was in says pkg: 2019/09/27.

I'll be taking mine in for 5,000 mile oil change -- I'll have them check it then.

Since a new post alert brought me back to this thread, figured I'd provide an update. My replacement top is still much quieter than the original. Overall, it's not as quiet as my wife's JL, I occasionally get a flapping noise from the canvas material on top, and more noise around the windshield than her Wrangler, but none of the support bow clanking & shuddering that was happening with the original top.

Did anything more come of this? Based on the info above the problem was for premium tops only and they had to be manufactured between MARCH and July 2019. I’m looking at a std soft top take off this week and want to make sure I’m not buying something problematic.

I’ll follow up. My replacement top was initially missing the cable on the gutter rails so I was having the top lift, keep cares got involved and had a different dealership fix that top. Since then the top was much quieter, but above 70mph it still would have loud road noise and NVH, so I ended up purchasing a hardtop second hand for road trips. Even without a headliner it’s significantly quieter than the premium softtop at highway speeds, with a crosswind, or any weather.

Finally got the dealer to replace mine (making all the same noises noted above) and it fixed it. Now it sounds like normal soft top Jeep at freeway speeds. It took 3 trips to the dealership to get them to do it but it was worth it to get the rumble noise fixed.

Ok. I found a good deal on a premium soft top with Gladiator build date of 11/19. This is outside the dates listed in this thread shown to be problematic so I should be all set but my question to the group is:
If this top is problematic for me, even though it is new and unused but bought second hand, will any problems be covered by Jeep‘S warranty?

Follow-up: The dealer ordered a new latch for the driver side. After they installed it, the driver & passenger latches both require about the same amount of force to latch (before, the driver side needed MUCH LESS force to close). I haven't had any problems since.

I am having the same terrible noise with my Gladiator. Premium Top. Manufactured May 2019. Contacted Jeep and used a lot of this discussion to hopefully make it so I don’t have to go back an forth and fight them over it. Will let you know how it goes. Thanks!

Did you do anything about this? I just bought a new in box premium soft top (second hand) from a guy with a 2020 JT. I get some of the flapping and buffeting as well. Curious what my options are.

I still haven’t installed it. If you end up going to the dealership I’d be curious to know how they treat the situation

I have a 21' with the premium top and have heard maybe 5 or so times since i got the truck in Oct of 2020 a loud "pop" at highway speeds in a high wind or large truck going by me situation. Haven't really much thought about and it is so much nicer then the standard vinyl top I had on my JKU back in the day.
I write it off to its just a jeep thing :) :)
