Anyone else (first Jeep owners or those prepping their spouse) riding around in their 'cage' (traditional car/truck) with extra windows down/sunroof open more than usual? Been trying to get the Mrs. used to it subliminally. Didn't work, she picked up on it right away!

She's definitely on board for getting one, however she got there.

Who cares how it happened just thank God that it did! I was fortunate that mine was on board all along. She supported the family when I went back to school so we learned to live on a lot less than we make now. Now how do I convince her that we need a JL too, and a GT500 and a new Super Duty Ford when the 7.3L Godzilla engine is released, and don't forget the boat. I turned 49 two weeks ago and I think I'll be 69 before I get all of the toys on my list checked off. By the time I get everything the first wave will be old and tired so I'll just have to keep digging.

Yeah, I think my Harley Softail is gonna have to go. Keeping the boat, though!

I just started doing this Monday. More to test temperature to reassure myself on the future purchase than anything. So far, doors/top off seems like it would be very doable. It's been a good 12 years since I regularly rolled around with windows/sunroof open, radio blaring. It makes driving much more fun.

My new concern, when will I listen to audible books? (Insert whatever band you like) blaring out of an open jeep seems much cooler than blaring a guy reading a book.

I did nothing. Rented my first Jeep in 2007...stripped it and loved it. Bought a new one in 2012 and stripped it naked the first day. She never said a word about it. Tore the JTR down the first day also. Only real adjustments my wife made was buying a Jeep hat to keep in the vehicle.

My wife is slowly growing on it and she knows I've never asked for a new vehicle ( I usually get her hand me downs) and she definitely knows we need a truck in our future with no room to do much in a Ford focus or escape. She gets irritated when I talk about it too much so sometimes I distance the truck out of the conversations for a few days and it helps. She's always wanted a Jeep Wrangler so I think she's excited for when we do get one but not as much as I am

My girlfriend turns in her leased Jeep renegade next Wednesday. It has the pretty awesome carbon fiber removable top. Ive been subtle with my suggestions that every Sunday we go out we take the top off of Harvey Dent

Both my girls are now on board
