Interesting that the New England international Auto Show (Boston Jan 2019) posted pricing in their FB page. (This is was likely not the ‘actual pricing’ but just a placeholder for their FB Page)

Great catch! I've been all over the place with price. Now, I think that is accurate. My guess is for JT sport. The only jeep NOT starting in the 20's is Grand Cherokee. All Jeep's start in the 20's except the JT and the GC? I'm thinking not. This thing has to have a model in the 20's, except there is no two wheel option.

I'm out the door low-mid 30s with a sport max and all its fixings. Those who get into Rubicon could see sixty, I get that, but jeep cannot upstage itself. How is this sport better than everything else? Sure, people love it, but base model is base model. 20's. Gotta be.

Edit: price for similarly equipped JLU $38,335. Man, I could be at 40K+ OTD which I just don't want to do, at all, period. Might as well go overland and creature comforts. And A ton of cash spent on a jeep. I could be waiting on this. Price will tell!

Edit2: now I'm back to original estimate. Base sport might be 33,000. Mine costs 42K +. Which sucks.

I was at the Boston show last night and was very impressed to FINALLY see one of these things in person & it was a loaded Rubicon.
It was great. It's everything I hoped for. The reps were very well informed with specs of the Gladiators as well as all its competition. One of them quickly pointed out the specific differences (towing, payload, interior, etc) between my '15 Tacoma TRD and thew Jeep right off the top of her head. In all honesty, I was slightly mesmerized by the gladiator and such an attractive woman rifling out truck & jeep specs that she could have been making numbers up and I would have just kept nodding in agreement. They would not let me climb in but She did say the interior was "virtually identical" to the Unlimited Rubicon sitting right on the floor and I jumped in there and was extremely impressed. I'm most interested in the "sport" variation and hope its significantly less than the Rubicon. The Unlimited Rubicon is very nice, but I would say 99% of the people who looked at the sticker gasped, shook their head or laughed when they saw the MSRP listed on the window.

As for the Gladiator's price, they were obviously well-trained to say nothing other than "sign up and we will email you pricing as soon as it's available." But one did slip that "they expect it to be a MINIMUM $5000 premium OVER the comparable trimmed Unlimited and they would NOT be surprised if it was more than that initially. That is not a lot of "truck" for your money, especially if you compare it to the offerings from Toyota Ram or GM for the same $. The new trucks in that price range are impressive to say the least.

I also asked if they had heard anything about an extended cab version and all I spoke with said "NO".

Awesome! So it is as great looking as we all think? Really glad you provided all those details. So now for price. Does that sound like just astoundingly stupid high pricing? I hope they wake up. Thanks!

HA HA HA! I "signed up" and haven't gotten ANYTHING, i think there's an entire thread about that. Only a few have gotten a single email.

Oh well, hopefully they email pricing soon.

I REALLY REALLY REALLY want a JT, and i've been watching this forum daily for a year and even I may say adios to Jeep if they price that "over $5000" over the comparable JL. Its a cool vehicle no doubt, but its not an amazing TRUCK. Power is adequate, but payload and towing for a vehicle that expensive isn't that great. Sure its top of the midsize segment, but it might well be in full size truck pricing if they stupidly go much more than $5k over. Every man has his breaking point......

Edit: Unfortunately i don't want a full size truck, as its too big, but a well equpied 3.6eco diesel 4x4 f150 lariat i just built was $60k.

I know i know, it doesn't have all the offroad bits the rubicon does.

Wranglers hold their value well don't they? Maybe the JT will follow suit.

I'm buying a JT this year, sometime in the late Fall or winter when all the early adopters have paid a premium for the truck and sales fall flat. The trick is not to be desperate and in a hurry. The JT has to compete with other tucks, so the price will ultimately be similar.
