Problem installing Baxter Oil Filter Adapter

I bought an oil filter adapter from Baxter and I have it all screwed in and ready for a filter, but I can’t screw the filter on because there is a mounting point for a bolt in the way. I am relatively new to this vehicle, so I guess the part is the throttle body and not the intake. Anybody seen this issue? Can I cut that bolt mount off? The truck is a 2023 JTR manual trans with the 3.6.

I know there is some trimming that has to be done for the install. I’d do some YouTube University research. I know I saw a video of Baxter doing an install on a 3.6 somewhere.

Thank you guys. The surgery is scheduled for tomorrow! I have tools to get it done. Is that piece in my photo the actual intake manifold? I’m thinking it’s something like a throttle body?

I installed one of these, and it is necessary to grind off about half of that stud mount in order to spin the filter unit on. See the video that Jteakus posted, around the 2 minute mark where they talk about this.l

Yup, You gotta take most of that mount out. All will be well.

You can see in the video how much he whacked off the intake. Basicly took the entire mount off. Do it first before removing the old filter and clean the area really good before starting. You want to keep all debris out of your engine.

I take it you are against RedNeck port and polishing the 3.6?

OP, a healthy dose of painters tape can keep things safe since you’re already halfway installed

I have done it, and I have the T-shirt with spun bearings to prove it.
