Insurance has gone up everywhere. Geico was the cheapest for me 2 years ago. No accidents and mine has increased 20% each of the last 2 six month terms. I rechecked and it was still the cheapest I could find.

Fires, floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, theft etc. Mine went up (live in Ohio) $750.00 just because. When I called, they told me that insurance has gone up across the board, just because. I believe it's State Farm who has ceased providing homeowners insurance in California. Florida is next. Not much recourse except to shop around, but they're all going to raise premiums eventually.

Didn't all insurance go up in FL? My buddy's home insurance doubled. A mix of weather catastrophes and deregulation.
Indeed. My homeowners (Progressive) went up $1000/year. Scared of what my auto policy will look like.

FWIW, I had USAA for 21 years. 2 cars for wife and I at about $280/month...She has acciedents from ~18 years ago. Last year my daughter got her license and we got her a 2001 Jetta and they told us $780/month! WHAT?! Just because she's a new driver. Wouldn't budge for loyalty and we went to Progressive at around $550/month.

Problem here in FL is the alarming rate of uninsured drivers, flashy cars for folks who got their license from a cereal box, and for homes...all the sketchy companies saying they'll get you a new roof if a storm came within 200 miles of your house.

Kid graduates next year and we'll be looking over alternatives.

I remember arriving from NY to Florida 21yo and going from 4k per year to 800.00 what a relief it was. Uber starts to make sense at those rates. Just seeing all the wrecks everywhere in Orlando the last 10 years I knew it would eventually hit us. I am actually going to shop my homeowners as well as mine has gone up also.

It’s the same with homeowners and flood insurance. I’m glad for USAA. Friends without claims have seen wild increase. Their broker stated it was because of the lawsuits and attorney fees Not to mention the hordes of uninsured motorists in Orlando, Tampa and South Florida. Jacksonville is quickly catching up.

I had 35 years with USAA with no claims. I compared with other companies, and saved $2K a year between cars and home. Bottom line USAA was raping me and I did not know it.... Check your rates!

I just visited Omaha. Everyone on the same street has new roofs. The companies go from home to home telling people the can get new roofs for "free" under insurance claim for hail damage. Minus deductibles.

everyone get new roofs/ insurance companies paying for new roof/ everyone paying more for insurance.....

The circle of life. haha...

Anyone else in Florida get a renewal at double the price? If so what was the alternative insurance companies? I would hate to renew at that increase. No accidents, no tickets, wife is excluded. So a wild guess would be the massive rise in crime and accidents in my area or progressive is just being ridiculous.
I moved to Geico somewhat recently, though it was mostly because at the time I had 2 vehicles that were somewhat modern (Gladiator and M235i) and Progressive sucks in that situation. I've recently sold the M235i, but Geico is still cheaper. I was with Progressive for about 15 years, no accidents.

With what company? Surely it has to do with the grouping of all policies. I was pretty happy with Progressive until this renewal.
I probably do get a multi-car discount, but it doesn't add to much $... I went through a broker and he placed me with National General, which is an Allstate company. If you need specifics, PM me.

I have insurance through AAA. They renew for a year at a time. I talked to my agent today. AAA applied a rate increase in March. He said it's the largest he's ever seen from them. My policy renews in July. I'll see about a 10% rate increase. The only discount left to offer is the Defensive Driving course. It's good for about 3%, so I'm going to see about getting that done.

My insurance went down $650 / six month term.

I sold my diesel Gladiator and bought a gasser which surprisingly is much cheaper to insure.
