Proximity door locks upgrade?

I know, I know, I’m spoiled -

To unlock my Gladiator, the unlock button on the fob has to be pressed. I noticed some newer gladiators have a button on the door handle to unlock the door while the fob is still in your pocket.

Does anyone know if there’s an upgrade path for the earlier Gladiators?

Yes. You can retrofit the proximity locks fairly easily. Most already have the wiring to the doors.

I had them added to my 2021 (I didn't want to mess around inside the door panel).

As already pointed out - there's a long long long old thread on it here, and Benny, AllMOPARParts dot com (a sponsor of this forum) sells a kit of parts.
All you need to know is in the thread linked to already by sharpsicle.
I did it on my 2020 Overland and it went just fine. The dealer I traded it to later was very happy I had added it (and had a dealer add the sales code to my VIN so it showed up when the other dealer looked it all up)

Here's a write up I did. Hope it helps, it was successful for me and I love it. There is a wiring prerequisite but I got lucky mine came with the wiring.

Yup - Benny has made this real easy with a bundle of parts for the project. When I did it, I had to order each part individually but his package made it easy. And he usually supplies a code to reduce shipping costs on top of the already better than neighborhood dealership prices.

Didn't really even need the YT videos when I did it, and of course I'd never take out self-locking bolts and screws with power tools like those guys did. Maybe it was decades of experience dealing with power windows and locks and such in other vehicles, converting, etc. whatever, but it's not a big deal IF you pay attention to detail, don't gorilla things.
