What's the WEIGHT of the trailer and the frontal area?

First, add a trailer brake controller. It's a must for anything over 2,000 pounds.
And a weight distribution hitch for sure -

Don't ever use the bumper to pull such a thing. A Mojave X should have the tow package with receiver.
Keep the tongue weight below 600 pounds, and the Mojave will have a towing weight limit, plus the owners manual will talk of the frontal area of the trailer.
That's a long trailer for a Gladiator.

I was really asking about suspension upgrades. I’m fairly educated on weight and distribution. I would surely not pull anything on the bumper itself. I know I wasn’t exactly concise with my question.

Nothing needed. Some changes may lower towing ability. These do fine right out of the factory, within their weight limits of course.
If there's too much rear droop, some of use airbags, but that's it. Why would suspension changes be needed .........

I put a set of Max Tow rear springs on my 21 Mojave and added 1 3/8” Icon aluminum spacers to make up for short Max Tow springs to give a better firmer ride with weight, but I have RSI cap and ARB fridge in bed which adds perhaps 270 pounds! That is a big camper to tow with a gladiator if it is not a light weight narrow one you might go the way of the many others posting here in past that moved up to full size trucks…..Jack

Agreed - I'd suspect many a 27 footer is a bit much for a Gladiator.

I pulled a rookie move, towed a car hauler with my Mojave and I can without a doubt confirm that these springs need some help and that I've lost about an inch on the rear lift.

I have a 22 Mojave, that I added airbags to to tow my travel trailer. The suspension was never a problem, the man trans left me wanting more.

So I found myself in a Joose Mojave, and had a family car breakdown, thinking, hey it's well under the weight of the travel trailer, I should have no problem... I could not have been more wrong.

So now I'm looking for replacement rear springs, to keep that soft rear feeling, and gain back that inch I lost....

every inch counts!

Uhaul trailer suck. I'll never haul a car with one. With that much weight forward, no wonder it says. I bet the dumb uhaul trailer and weight are part of the problem

Well there appears to a foot or more behind that VW to back it up, though you wouldn't be able to use the built in front wheel winches. Though you could load it backwards and alleviate some of the tongue weight. Them being built for lowest amount of brains and highest amount of abuse means not a lot of flexibility in how to use them.

It's also low key wild how heavy they are (again to survive rentals).

The deck on that trailer is only 12' long with an open center, and weighs 2,200 pounds empty.

An 18' car hauler with a wood deck for sale locally weighs 2,300 pounds and gives you about 16' of flat deck with no open center, and 2' of dovetail.

We have used the dolly's in a pinch, but never fool with the trailers because there isn't enough trailer to balance it properly half the time.

My PJ 18 footer with wood deck was well under 2300 pounds.

2300 is a heavy trailer.

2200 is crazy for a short 12 foot trailer.
Made for abuse and people who have never hauled a car before. They are dumbed down and grossly heavy on the front end likely to prevent sway but a real rear suspension killer.

My current 18 foot car haulers weighs 1600 with spare tire, tool box full of stuff.

Uhaul trailers force a lot of tongue weight - they want to be sure there's no sway by putting about 20% or more of the weight on the tongue I guess.

The shield and box on the front help explain some of the weight.

My current car hauler - 1600 pounds as shown, box full of jacks, straps and so on.
Tilt bed.

And my first - a friend called it a box car on tires. I bet it weighed 3,000 empty at least!
