I’m looking to purchase a Gladiator. Right now I have some great quotes but I can’t find them in the color I want. I’m thinking I might should wait it out until production ramps back up, but I also think I might end up paying thousands more. What do y’all think?

What trim are you looking at? Overland incentives are crazy good right now and with dealers seemingly having a lot of them in many areas, the deals might be better now than they will be in a long time. On the other hand, who knows what deals will come down the pipe from FCA once July and August roll around? They might have to push incentives on Rubicons eventually because I see a ton of them out here in California on dealer lots and none of them are moving.

I talked to one of my best friends this week who happens to sell commercial auto insurance to dealers. He said he's been checking in with his clients since the Covid-19 pandemic started, and during the first month they were really hurting bad. However, in the last month or so, he said most of the dealers he works with have told him they are crushing it in sales. Some of it is due to unprecedented financing and incentives (For example, Toyota just started 0% financing on certain used cars for the first time ever). But also a big part of it is customers now putting a priority on driving everywhere due to the Covid-19 fallout, and avoiding all forms of public and mass transportation. We all might want to keep this in mind when "holding out" for better deals when new inventory starts arriving from the factories. The deals may or may not be as good as people think down the road; just food for thought. Or they might be very good....sometimes giving up on color can result in fantastic deals.

Its looking like a buyers market right now with everything slowly opening back up..

I did ok last week on a pretty well loaded up Overland North Edition. When it was all said and done we were a little over 6k under the MSRP price. I was big time upside down on my trade in so I took the deal just to get out of the F150 Lariat I traded in. I read on this site last night a member got close to 10k under MSRP on his Gladiator, not sure what trim level he bought though.

Good luck !

Here’s my deal that I got on an overland. I got what I had expected on the trade using KBB trade in value. Hope this helps. Deals can be had!

My MSRP on a 2020 Overland was $54,980 and I paid $47,180 plus tax and tags.
($7,800) off MSRP in N.C.

Hard to say... Color is kind of a big thing to me...., so, I understand your dilema. Time is something you never get back.... I bought my JT Rubicon last October, and I wanted a Rubicon Stick shift, so, I bought a Sting Grey when I found it. Looking back on it, it was one of the best decisions I made --- because we live a few miles from the forest and we were going into the forest every day with this Covid-19 nightmare.... 10K miles already with a lot of dirt miles.. I credit the JT with seriously helping with our sanity... So, you never know,--- it's like the stock market.

If it was me, I would still get the color I wanted, get the deal I wanted now, and compromise on the options. First option I would compromise would be the safety group, but, that is just me --- I think I do not need it, and if the windshield cracks from a rock on the road, the system has to be re-calibrated for the new windshield. My windshield just cracked at 10K miles and I replaced it with Mopar - approx. $600 with no safety group...., if I had the safety group, I heard $900 with the dealer re-cal....

I would, and did, buy now, vs later. I recently purchased my Rubicon from Dulles Motor Cars in Leesburg, Va for over $8k off MSRP. I looked at an Overland as well, which was $7.6k off MSRP. I looked around the nation, but didn’t find a better price or better selection of vehicles anywhere. They even gave me a better deal on my Expedition trade-in than anywhere else.

If you don’t want to mess with buying a vehicle in Virginia you might be able to leverage the Dulles quote at a dealer local to you.. Dulles will provide a no hassle “out the door” quote via email. I’ve attached both quotes that I received.

I’d buy now if you can get one with options you like and at a great price, and you 2nd or third color choice. Thats what I did. Mine isn’t my preferred color either, but there is always vinyl wrapping and plasti-dip options if I decide I hate it. I can always trade it in next year as the savings now will help me enter positive equity sooner for trade in purposes.

The key concept here is delayed gratification. I ordered mine and went through a dealer on this forum who advertises a flat percentage below invoice. Find one near you. Use the spreadsheets. Look at the incentives. Do the homework and math.

I ended up with exactly what I wanted (less all the mods in my mod plan) for the best possible price. Now, however, I'd love a Mojhave - but that wasn't an option when I bought.
