Not to put you and your bank account into a tailspin, but oil pan skid and diff skids or cas diff covers are all important …Jack
Got the oil pan, gas tank, transfer case etc all covered. Never understood the need for diff skids since it is a big huge piece of iron anyway.

Got the oil pan, gas tank, transfer case etc all covered. Never understood the need for diff skids since it is a big huge piece of iron anyway.
I’d consider diff skids. You don’t want to hit that wrong and drain your gear oil.

#1, the current design on the rear axle has a bunch of horizontal ribs that like to catch on edges and stop movement. #2,the rear cover isn’t recessed at the edge, so rocks can peel back the fairly thin stock sheet metal cover

Heavy-duty rear cover can help with #2. Rear skid solves both (at the cost of a slight loss of clearance and money, of course). Front is a different story IMHO - you compress rather than peel the bottom edge, and drop off those ribs instead of catch on them. Unless, I suppose, you do your hardest wheeling in reverse trying to get out of whatever you got yourself into

Some obstacles are more fun in reverse. It’s that awkward y turn while everyone waits….
