I use my Rubicon pretty aggressively at times and am getting to the point where I might have to get some new control arm brackets. Got out on Memorial day for some fun on the trails and hammered my rear control arm brackets pretty good. Who makes some good, strong replacements?

That's a welded on fixture, would be expensive and time consuming to replace.

Might want to look at some type of skid for that location.

Yeah, I know it would take some cutting and re-welding and I would definitely take it to a respected off-roading shop for that but I would like to just replace them with some beefier brackets. Skids are nice, but all the ones that I have seen just bolt up to the existing bracket.

If you know of a good weld shop near you, they can fabricate something for you. Other than that, to my knowledge the only replacement would be OEM and I don't know that they can even be sourced. Might be a part of the frame.

Well, you folks have some good points. I might throw on a skid to maybe delay the inevitable.

Kevman65, thanks for the link!

VERIFY they'll work on a JT before you buy. JL fronts crossover so they'll work too.

Get the Rusty’s as shown above. And get the full set of Rockhard rear lower control arm and shock skids, and front lower and upper control arm skids and torque them correct, they are all about 1/4” steel and they don’t catch on rocks but slide over it is a permanent repair . I’m not lifted but am skidded and the skids are great idea, I think Rusty’s is the best for the rear control arm frame mount with the two extra bolts going through predrilled holes in the frame ….Jack.

I have the Rusty's rear, front lower and Rockhard lower rear axle mount. Plus Rockhard front, front axle skids. I've beat the hell out of them. For replacement mounts. The only thing you will find is DIY kits.

Bolt through skids work just great. I hammer mine and the brackets are fine underneath. If I didn’t have them, I’d have ripped an arm off by now.

I have them as well and have beat the hell out of them. Absolutely worth it, that's a spot I find myself hanging up on a lot.
