good god a person asks about the app and it turns into a "I hate this app because it's worthless" and more.
It gets used a lot around here..............and when we were in Florida "did you remember to lock the truck" ? Well, I'll make sure it's locked........... and we had walked at least a mile away from the truck.
We were walking around St. Augustine for hours - literally walked miles exploring the area. Because of what it is, it's not arranged in nice even square blocks with streets all going N/S and W/E and we were tired, clean out on the edge of town and I told my wife - hang on, I'll find the truck and we'll have a direct route to walk to get to it. Sure enough- saved a heck of a lot of time. I even started it and had the AC going for us as it was hot and humid down there.
Some don't get it - it's not the problem of the app, it's that it's just not a good fit for that user (and they maybe can't figure it out?)
Works fine for me and we live in a cell reception no-mans-land.

The Accept button on the Uconnect screen at startup is FCA's liability waiver.
And it'll disappear without even touching it.

I know my question not related to the topic itself but is related to Uconnect.

my center console (USB2) not connected to screen 8.4 from the factory and its only for charging

any idea how to connect it so I can use it for apple carplay/android auto?

Usually, that is a problem the dealer would fix. It could be wired wrong, or could be set that way on purpose.

Are there any ports on the back of the center console, and do they work? They could have been connected wrong during assembly.

There are no ports behind the center console.
I bought mine brand new and it came from the dealer this way, its even written in Manuel that its only for charging.

So I loaded the new app on my android device. The app asks me to enter the last 8 characters of my VIN. After doing that it says we found your VIN. Please click next to verify your VIN...That is when I get an error. I never get any further than that!

There are no ports behind the center console.
I bought mine brand new and it came from the dealer this way, its even written in Manuel that its only for charging.
Since it is purposely done that way, you would need to trace the port wiring back to the source point behind the head unit and see if another connection point is available that would allow communication along with charging.
