This question is for the diesel techs out there.

In our Gen 3 EcoDiesel's we have a crankcase ventilation system that allows air/oil mist into the intake.
My question is if the turbo is sending boost (positive air pressure) into the intake, how does any air/oil mist pass from the crankcase to the intake?

Is there some type or venturi effect happening that us sucking air/oil mist out of the crankcase?

Thanks for anyone who understands how this works.
I have a lot of questions on how this entire diesel system works in the ecodiesel. I would love to see a flowchart of the software perimeters (if this/ then that) for this thing.

The air/mist goes to the air filter side of the intake, not the turbo side. Same as a gas car with a turbo. This oil mist and the EGR system work great together to clog up your intake. Catch cans can remove some of the oil. EGR system can't legally be removed, but it has been done to prevent problems.

Thank you sir, that makes perfect sense as pre turbo is under vacuum rather than under pressure, does that mean that the oil/mist also runs thru the turbo?

The EPA and the manufactures love the EGR system. They will clog your intake one day. If you trade vehicles often, you may never have this problem. If it was just that oil mist going in, it wouldn't be an issue. The exhaust gasses really make a mess of things.
