I did a bunch of Raptor Liner on my H2, all the plastics, bumpers, brush guard, etc. EVERYTHING is in the prep. Spraying was easy, you just have to play around with the best PSI for the sprayer to get the texture you want. I absolutely love the way all my pieces turned out. If I had the black fenders on my JTR I wouldn't hesitate to Raptor Line them.
I had Line-X in the bed of my last truck with no cover. I did paid for the upgraded UV add on and even after 3 years it had faded like you wouldn't believe. When I would open the tail gate you could see how nice the Line-X was where the sun couldn't get to it.
It was definitely a little scary at first never doing a sprayed liner like Raptor Liner but once you start it is so easy (obviously after the prep) and the end product is very nice. Get yourself a box of scotchbrite pads, lower grit sandpaper if you need it, a final wipe solvent, etc. Don't skip any steps! The prep seems to be the biggest theme with this. After looking at my bumper I might jump on this sooner than later at least for that. the paint job it came with is so bad I can't really make it worse. Depending on how that turns out I think I might move onto other things.
Might practice on something like cutting a 2x4 as a divider for the bed and incase I ever need to transport plywood.
Looks like the part list I need to repaint the dash as well (I don't like the rubicon red). I wish I had more time to do everything I want to. Looks like I might have a good list of winter projects to get ready for.It was definitely a little scary at first never doing a sprayed liner like Raptor Liner but once you start it is so easy (obviously after the prep) and the end product is very nice. Is that a rattle can? I'm looking for something easier for my Go Rhino mounts. They are new but came with garbage finish.A lot simpler solution and maybe does not fit exactly with this conversation but i use rustoleum truck bed liner for skid plates, sliders and such... goes on easy and is very easy to touch up... its a light texture with only a slight bit of gloss to it.. if you do light coats it looks almost exactly like my mopar steel bumper as far as color and texture
It is a rattle can.. there is 2 kinds, i think 1 is more glossy.. this is the one i useIs that a rattle can? I'm looking for something easier for my Go Rhino mounts. They are new but came with garbage finish.
I have stared at this stuff the last few times I was at home depot debating it. Have you done any testing to see how durable it is?It is a rattle can.. there is 2 kinds, i think 1 is more glossy.. this is the one i use

That looks nice and is the look i am going for want to to blend into mine a lot better. Have you raptor lined anything else?I raptor lined my Fairlead on my Badlands winch. If you do it make sure you scuff it up pretty good before hand. I'll probably redo mine, but also bought a black one as well. Currently have the raptor lined Badlands oneinstalled![]()
6 months in I am still glad I went with the diamondback over anything else, even with the high cost of it. Just has been so useful overall.First of all, props on the Diamondback! I just traded my 18 Tundra with a Diamondback HD for my Gladiator and I'm regretting settling for the Mopar hard tri-fold!!!
I've seen really good product from the Raptor finishes...as others have said, it's definitely in the prep. I wouldn't hesitate to use the Raptor 2K product sprayed on the bumpers. I was trying to find a factory take off steel bumper until I saw the Rigged Ridge Arcus and my mind was set. Those recovery hooks play into my theme of my "Great White"!
Good Luck!
Not on the JT. Actually it was Herculiner. On my JKU I had the fenders and the hinges scorpion lined and they held up well until I put the metal fenders on.That looks nice and is the look i am going for want to to blend into mine a lot better. Have you raptor lined anything else?
I like the look of that. Never thought of doing the door hinges before, but makes total sense if you take them off a lot.Not on the JT. Actually it was Herculiner. On my JKU I had the fenders and the hinges scorpion lined and they held up well until I put the metal fenders on.![]()
I'm thinking about have my hinges done in scorpion liner again by the same guy that did my JKU. He only charged me $60 to do it. The guy who is building my custom taillight guards for me said he may be able to get my hinges powder coated for $40 so I'm just trying to figure out what route I want to go on that. Here's some shots of the JKU
