Ok am I the only person that’s going to ask about this..? :whatsgoingon: Am I misreading?? What in the world are you doing with a chip imbedded in your hand? I didn’t think I was that out of touch with technology...;)
Yeah, it's funny how often that's overlooked. It's basically like standard building access cards but it's a chip implant. I can open my house doors and my office, as well as enable security on my computer via a USB reader. It also contains my contact card so a person can scan it with a phone and get my contact card.

So....,can you see that now in your hand? Does it always work? What is the cost on that? How do you program the things that you want it to do? I am left with so many questions about this.

You can't see it. The needle was a 10 gauge, and the chip is like a small piece of rice. I can sort of feel it with a finger sometimes, not always. It always works, but range is super short. I have to touch the reader. I think it cost $80, long ago, not sure today. It's from Dangerous Things. The chip itself can be programmed/changed, and to program devices to it, you just scan it. So like my office and server room doors normally use cards, which I assume you've seen. This is just like that. To add a card you scan it and declare its rights/access. Same with the embedded chip. Really the same as having a high end card with both NFC and RFID, and 888 bytes of programmable memory.

That is pretty cool. From watching the video it made me think of the chips they put in pets. Not bad on price for the ease of daily living!

People are really impressed when I pay with my Apple Watch. This is next level. Can’t wait til I can get one that opens and controls everything in my life.

Pretty cool.. I don’t think I could handle injecting that into my hand but I see the functionality there. Need to figure out how to get it to unlock your car doors

Yeah, it's scary in a sense, but really, not bad at all. Pinch. Have you donated blood? Barely more than that. For opening car doors, you'd have to do your own system/reader. There's really no way to add this into an existing car, because they use secret electronic keys on the fob side. So I still need to bring my hand truck to roll around the ginormous Jeep fob. There's a guy who has my implant and uses it to turn on the ignition to his Hayabusa motorcycle, it's on Youtube.

The beta units are going out this week to the beta testers. We have been tweaking the design to provide the best button response possible. The panic button requires more force than the other buttons. This should eliminate accidental alarm activation.

We should be ready to go live with the final design in early January.

I will provide a photo update early this week as the beta fobs are finished.

If you get a new or replacement fob from Jeep, the dealer needs all of your current fobs and the new fob to program the new fob and reprogram the old fob(s). Not sure if locksmiths have the equipment to program the current Jeep fobs, also don't know if the transponder chip in the existing fobs need reprogrammed while the new transponder chip will need programed by the dealer.
I've had new fobs added without needing the current fobs and don't I don't think Jeep allows locksmiths to program JL/JT fobs.

I added an additional fob to my JL and the dealer told me to bring in my existing two fobs when they programed the 3rd fob.

We had a little fun with designs over the weekend, these won't appeal to everyone and are meant to show a few possibilities with color & design. We have 0, 3, and 4 button versions shown here. Beta fobs are going out by Wednesday of this week. For simplicity, the beta versions will be black. we have some tweaking for the color parts to account for the different strength and shrinkage characteristics.
