I have very base sport. Auto. Was only option I got.
I did the mopar lift. With 37’s & BR wheels.
this is my work tuck, so it’s driven daily.
I want to re-gear. So I’m curious what size gears do I go to to basically get back to stock performance/ mpg. Or the closest I can get. I’ll prob do a programmer to add a little power back also. I knew going into this I would lose mpg. & if it can’t get better. Well it is what it is. Tax write off anyways. But. Still be nice to get a little more back. Truck comp says I’m avg. 13.4. Which really isn’t terrible.

13.4mpg is pretty bad. Has your speedo been adjusted?

I have stock 4.10s and 37s, getting around 17mpg

I got the max tow for the 4.10s, knowing id be putting the 37s on and didn't want to HAVE to regear.
The 4.10s do perfectly well daily driving. How ever 4.88s would be better (more time in 8th on the highway)

I agree with above^^^^^^^

If you haven't programed your computer correctly for your current setup I would do that first.

I can be done as cheap as $90 if you go with the two parts off amazon and the JScan app.

You might be getting +15mpg and you just don't know it.

13.4 seems a little low but if you have a heavy foot it could be completely accurate.

I have not. & the dealership was supposed to do it when they put it all on. As they told me that was a must & the most important part of keeping covered under warranty.

Light foot. Have an m2. For my heavy foot lol.

Well admittedly I didn’t do any research & just bought the Jeep. I didn’t even know what the max tow option was. It’s the 1 thing I would have got for sure.
I’ll get on next one. When I’m ready for another truck to join fleet. Just sux cause discontinued gator. & that was what I went all out on with my theme.

I have a shop and we've done 4.88s, 5.13s & 5.38s on new JLs & JTs with 37s. They 4.88s have the most "stock" feel like this is the way it should feel from the factory. Gives it more punch off the line and holds 8th gear at highway speeds without dropping in and out of 7th.
I personally went with 4.88s in mine and have no regrets.

Look online for the TrailRecon video where he does a Gladiator MPG test with 37" tires before and after switching to 5:13 gears. That might seem steep, but the 5:13s worked really well for him.

Have customers told you how high they spin in 8th at 80mph on 5.13? If it isn't too too bad I would probably go that route.

I thought he chose 4.88? Maybe misremembering.

How much does it typically cost to go to 4.88? (gears and installation)

That doesn’t sound too bad.
Is having the dealer do it. Worth having the warranty aspect

If you are going with aftermarket parts the stock warranty will only apply to remaining stock parts which will be unaffected by the dealership. Warranty on the gears will go to the manufacturer who may require a licensed shop do the job for warranty to be considered, and you have to rely on the shop to complete the job correctly.

I would find an outside drivetrain shop to do a regear. I know that skill levels vary wildly basically everywhere but I would trust a shop that specializes in gears over a dealer who would rather swap a whole axle than tear into one
