Ever fact check an encyclopedia? They are way worse by omission and commission. I'd bet encyl are worse than 20% error rate because they are two years out of date upon printing, rendering them obsolete, not current. Also, for space, they condense, omitting critical details. Similarly, they omit entireties of topics for space. Wikis have all those editors, to help clean it up, so you get all the view points anyway. Like I said, would you rather have a private company water down your truth, make it fit screen by leaving out stuff, and telling you what it was two years ago? No way man. But I'd have to use the internet to prove it :CWL:
Encyclopedia Britannica stopped printing in 2012. That’s likely why when you look at them they are inaccurate ;)

Honestly. I'm European and if someone printed my heritage on the side of a Jeep, I'd be flattered. Such a bs and too many sensitive people around

Your European, which means you don’t have a voice to whether native Americans find it offensive or not.

Ohhh come on. Jeep and hyundai are nowhere close 🤣🤣
Other than they both have 4 wheels and both can usually run until 100k miles. But, usually Hyundai’s blow their engines around 100k, and jeeps keep ticking!

Memo to JEEP: Just drop the last e.

CHEROKE, GRAND CHEROKE, MOJAV

Your mind will fill in the missing letter and pronounce it the same.

Nobody owns that trademark better hurry.

Or just keep the one you trademarked and tell them to pound sand.

What if one...just 1 cherokee indian says its not offensive? That means its not a universal truth that its offensive to all Cherokee. Ive yet to understand how exactly the use of the word is offensive. Why havent they said anything about the cherokee brand scrubs everyone wears in the hospital? What if a native american decides to build and name a car...can he/she name it an Indian name? "Red skins" is understandably offensive but cherokee is an actual name. Why is Seminole Hard Rock casino or Hera's Cherokee OK? Is it better to have the name of a tribe associated with gambling/alcohol than with an automobile?

Companies need to understand that pissing off the people that buy your products to appease the people who never have and never will buy your products is corporate suicide.

In other words: Get woke, go broke.

See: Yeti, Dicks Sporting Goods, ESPN, NBA, etc.

Did jeep acquire the rights to the name from the tribe back in the 70's, or just start using it? The tribe has a right to the name, so I see no issue. I think the one's complaining just need to grow-up and ditch their sense of entitlement to something they are not entitled to. If a tribe wants a company to stop using their name, so be it. Maybe they could strike a business deal where the tribes get compensated for the use of their name on a product. I say good for the tribe to feel they can speak up for their rights.
