Really Loving Select Speed Control

I have become a big fan of SSC over the past few trail rides. I can't say enough great things about how well this system allows you crawl over or through any obstacle. The last few trail rides I have tried to put it in use on the more technical obstacles to test it out and the results are amazing. The Gladiator just stays planted and slowly makes its way up the rocks or through an off camber muddy section with ease. I have had my kids driving on the trails as well and in this mode they have looked like veteran off-roaders on obstacles that others struggled on. The system definitely makes some weird noises as it controls the brakes and throttle but the results speak for themselves. I have a max tow and have been toying with the idea of adding a front locker (love the rear LSD, just wish it was helical vs clutch pack) but the use of SSC has now got me delaying this upgrade. What are others experiences using SSC. Really curious to see if others even use it.

We used it on Friday at the Jeep Academy. The trail guides had us use it on a hill decent. Worked really well. My wife and I are total newbie’s but to me it seemed pretty slick.

Next try that section without the SSC and see if you can conquer the section without the assistance.

I have to agree with @Gvsukids about learning to do for yourself.

All the traction control in the world won't replace the sure footed knowledge that you are taking the right line at the right speed. That confidence comes from trying and failing and trying again. What works for my rig may not work for yours for any number of reasons.

That said, what amounts to automated throttle does sound appealing as I have experienced the rapid fire throttle stabs that come with real broken country. Very unfun doing the three pedal two feet dance while also steering away from a rock as big as a hall closet.

I was just at Moab and did 6 different trails… 2 a day. I found it extremely useful on hells revenge going up and down the trail.

I started using the system back on my first JKU … love ghost riding the whip
