I believe the rear steel bumper is standard on all Gladiators.
I mis-read that comment  LOL
You know I saw a guy modify that rear bumper which was plastic & hollow into a water tank - not for drinking but for washing etc while overlanding... I thought it was a very innovative space saving idea! I wonder if we can do it with the steel bumpers...

I vaguely recall seeing a video where Mark Allen had pointed out that the truck shown had a certain type of rear bumper. Made it sound like they had different types of rear bumpers for the various different models. And no I could never find that video for ya folks. Sorry.

That jogged my memory. There are 2 rear bumpers. Both are steel, the Rubi bummer has 2 recovery points and the overland/sport only has one. Might be other differences as well but that was the main point.

Thanks for reconfirming that I was not going crazy. Was thinking that it could have been the alcohol or the hard, hard drugs or just simple old age.

I was just checking out a Gladiator this last weekend at the local dealer. It's a steel bumper, plastic coated. I went and knocked on it to complain that it was shipping with plastic bumpers... and is definitely not a plastic bumper. *ouch*

If the rear bumpers are like the JK Wrangler then the recovery point is actually frame mounted... so a sport can have 2 rear points if they want to buy the hook and add it. I'd bet they're the same rear bumpers for everything at this point.

At a dealership meow and the rubicon has a steel bumper. The overland is plastic. Confirmed.

This is a video I took today. It shows the rear bumper quite well:

It looks incredibly good in person
