Recall: 1M+ Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator Fire Risk (June 9, 2026)

Mine was in for inspection yesterday. 2021 Anniversary Edition. Got a thumbs up on the connector with no parts needed.

Took mine in yesterday (2023 Mojave), and they said the same thing. I asked if this means I can start parking in the garage again, and they said yes. I plan to verify this with Stellantis, though.

Just keep that documentation of the inspection done. Preferably in a fireproof something or another.

All these vehicles getting "cleared" somewhat concerns me. I will be literally, putting my house and home on the line based on an inspection by someone that probably doesn't care one way or another.

Sure, if it is faulty and something happens, I have a legal recourse. But at the same time I'll be Jeep-less and homeless...sorry, that's not PC anymore. I'll be "un-housed". Sheesh.

Vlad checked out good this morning - Orlando Dodge, Jeep Chrysler is the boss - in at 8:15 and out at 9:00 and every person I dealt with was super nice. About as painless as one can hope for.

I wouldn't hold my breath on that one....you know Jeep has some high-powered lawyers and they'll be fighting you until you die of frustration before they pay out. All the while you're sleeping in a rented RV in your driveway.

I don't know, but I'd venture a guess that when you sign your "cleared" paperwork, there is some fine print that by signing you agree to hold Jeep harmless for any and all future damages. Sounds like standard lawyer-speak that benefits them and them alone. Like I said, I don't know, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least.

The NHTSA report on the problem predicted about 0.1% of all affected vehicles would actually have a problem, so it really shouldn't come as a surprise that most inspections do result in a "cleared" determination.

I'd suggest that if you don't trust the service department to do the inspection with proper care, inspect it yourself beforehand using the instructions document attached in post #380 of this thread.

Based on the criteria in the inspection documents, and the actual incident rate being extremely low, this looks like a very easy item to confidently get a go/no go on.

But, I'm saying that as someone who has done several years of electrical work on a vehicle production line - so spotting an abnormality for me is akin to putting on pants. It's second nature

So I have an appointment tomorrow for the recall inspection. I also need them to fix a rattling, loose rear view mirror. I want them to check my rearview camera as well which works 85% of the time. The other 15% it has a black screen. It also is blurry when it's hot outside. Winter time its pretty clear although not as good as my JLU was. My question is do I need to unmarry my Tazer or just not worry about it since most JT's have them? Its a pain to do it.

Depends on if your dealer is "mod" friendly or not.

If it were me, I'd unplug it. One less question to worry about and you remove one card from their hand, the "Your aftermarket, unapproved device is causing the issue" card, even though it's probably not.

Well they should be since every Jeep here is modified. The worst thing they could say is the camera problem is related to the Tazer. Mirror and recall are most important at this point.
