So approaching 156K miles on the body with new motor long block. Lifted 3" with fox 2.0 shocks and have 33" tires that are on MT classic wheels with -12 offset, so they kick out slightly. As would expect ball joints will need to be replaced again soon.

So good idea to just do all at once? I mean in my head almost better this way, but not a mechanic so maybe that just made up stuff.

What should be on my list to do if do this complete vs don't bother with these components etc...

Also to just note that currently there is nothing not in working order. Just a lot of miles and thinking of being proactive and while at it doing some slight upgrades. Daily with bit of off-roading here and there, so not purely a pavement princess but not an off-road rig either that is. So it's not been upgraded because haven't had a needed to go beyond the lift and slightly larger tires and those were mostly to offset bumper & winch weight from the sport oem suspension.

More of a Ive put a lot of miles on it and some of those were bit rough. So preventative I guess my thought... but yeah maybe overthinking it

Replaced it, less then a 1000 miles right now. Old engine got misfire thought from cam. Then realized it had other issues on top of the cam. It was fubared

Just under 155k, never had issues with until I did. In hindsight it was losing power slightly over time that think just never noticed it. You know until the new motor seemed awful peppy and I was like huh... yeah.

When it’s time to replace ball joints, I replace everything…track bar, drag link, tie rod, hubs and ball joints. I also take a look at the ujoints (or the CV) on the axles. I’m new to the CV joint axles, but have found ujoints needing replacement even when they didn’t feel bad.

Ball joints require that you touch almost everything, so might as well get it all refreshed…

In my limited experience with automotive rebuilding, if you replace one part of a mechanical assembly without replacing the rest of it, the old parts will wear down fast and have to be replaced anyway. The assembly won't function optimally until those parts are replaced. My thoughts are more on engine repair, but the steering also has moving parts that wear out.
