We took our 2021 High Altitude Gladiator on a 1800 mile road. Has anyone installed the interior roof panels? If so do they help reduce highway noise ?
Any input would be appreciated

I installed HotHeads 5 years ago, huge difference in noise. After years in the shop, I am hard of hearing and now we can speak at normal levels on the highway, radio is also about 4 clicks lower now.
They do help with the sun beating on the black roof too.
I went with HotHeads because he is a small shop and am very happy I did.

I just installed the hothead headliner with sound assassin strips over the weekend and it made a huge difference. Pretty easy to install but recommend having someone around to help take the hard top off. If you do it with it on you’ll end up with white dust all over from scuffing up surfaces for the 3m adhesives. Also just way more comfortable working in it without holding your arms over your head the whole time.

I didn’t have the heart to scuff the roof, just cleaned it good and no problems. I also did it without removing the back, loosened it up then used some 2x4s to hold up the front half and had enough room to install them.
my 2 cents

I installed the DEI Headliner in mine. My motivation was heat reduction more than noise reduction. Since I already had sound deadening sheets, I covered the complete area that the panels were going to cover. Not just the strips that come in some headliner kits. I can tell a huge difference in the interior temps during the summer. I did notice some difference in noise. It was in road noise mostly when driving 60mph and under but on the highway it's minimal. It's better but only by a small noticeable difference. On the highway, they'll get you there, but it's not a refined experience at all. lol

I did Hot Heads with Sound Assassin Strips. I didn't run it very long before I did that when new, but it easy to notice a significant difference. To this day, I catch myself purposely enjoying the lack of noise, and in north Texas, a lack of "hot heads" literally.

If I bought another new one, it would have both again, in a heartbeat!

My only advise for both, get yourself in a calm mode and start slow and don't short-cut. I can't imagine having to redo any of it, and prep/cleaning properly would get the most attention again.

I'm a fan!!

Another vote for the Hotheads and Sound Assassin product.

And @JKenTex...Montana here. Hot rarely an issue here. 😁
