Remote start with door unplugged

I have been wondering why my remote start hasn't been working (honks once, doesn't start), and realized it's because I have my passenger rear door unplugged. I know the owner's manual lists "doors closed" and "all removable doors not removed" as conditions for the remote start to work.

Has anyone found a workaroud for this? Is it something I can do with a Tazer?

I want to keep one back door disconnected so I can open it all the way and fit my dog stairs into it.
