Looking for a remote start system for our 23 Gladiator Rubicon. The only thing the dealership was able to suggest that "might work" was a Viper system. I was hoping that someone here would have some experience with this issue. Looking for a system that can be controlled via smartphone app. Thanks in advance

Do you realize....having remote start thru an APP - will require a subscription ($). Whether its OEM / UConnect or other aftermarket unit.

It was bought in Vegas, I live 4 hrs to the North at an elevation of about 7000 feet. The wife and I were disappointed when we found out that it didn't have remote start. This is what the fob looks like

The Uconnect fee isn't the issue. The wife and I have to pay for our Ecodiesel and RAM 1500 anyway. The cost isn't an issue. It's just that the remote start isn't even offered on the Uconnect app for the Rubicon?

It isn't offered on YOUR Rubicon because your VIN number shows you don't have the necessary equipment for Remote Start.

My Rubicon offers it on the app, but I never slaved my Rubi to my phone. So I only use the button on the fob.

Viper works well with MOPAR products as long as the correct adapter dongle is used and they offer an app to use with smart phone.

Apparently we ended up with one without the cold weather pkg due to it being bought in Vegas, 4 hrs to the south of us?. I'm hoping that the viper system will work, still haven't gotten a response from them.

I just went through this. My Rubicon did not come Remote Start. I do have proximity Door Locks though which reportedly means I had both required body modules already installed. My dealer just ordered the new keys with the proper fobs and went in and programmed my truck.

My dealer ordered two remote fobs for me for $531 dollars (82216342AA) and programmed my truck (XBM Option). After the new key fobs came in they called me, I drove up to the service department and they programmed it while I was in line. It took maybe a total of ten minutes to pay while they did the work. I now have four key fobs. Total cost was $568.

If you don't have proximity locks you may need a new RFHUB (depending on what model you have) and Remote Start Antenna (68290768AB).

That is news to me! I didn’t realize that it’s just programming if you have proximity doors. My Mojave did not come with the cold weather package.

I used something similar on my Ford F150. Was pretty much plug and play and used the original remotes with just a button push sequence of the lock/unlock to make it work.
