Replacing steering gear

First of all happy new year to everyone .
Hope it’s gonna be an epic year full of nice and memorable adventures.

does anyone knows if the steering gear replacement MUST be done at a dealer place with intervention of dealer connect andwiTECH 2 ? Or is it something who can be made at any service repair ?

With you being in Europe. I don't think anyone here can help you. Best bet is to check with the dealer there.

All I can say is this - in North America, the original aluminum housed steering gear, when replaced with the newer steel-houses steering gear there had to be a software update.
It is electro-hydraulic power steering and the replacement required a software update.
I can't imagine that it could be different elsewhere.

Here is a view of the technical service bulletin - I see Latin America, etc. are included, and if EMEA is Europe, Middle East and Africa, then I guess that's you..........

Yeah that’s the problem … the dealer ;-)
But seems I don’t have any other choice than doing this update .
Don’t you if you remember the big adventure it was about this steering gear . To make it short I had to buy it by myself since JEEP importer here refuse to apply the TSB ( they prétend they are not aware about any trouble )and buying this part here cost … 1800€

ok ok i will see with the dealer for this update and let’s see
