I guess they didn't fix that issue. When i had my Gen 1 installed, we cut that flange off to allow the canopy to slide towards the cab. At that time the whole canopy was sticking out over the end of the bed. It needed to move forward about a 1/4-1/2 inch. I'll probably cut it off again. We tried bending it but it was not enough.I personally would do without the windows. Not sure they add much value to the function but maybe some light and / or air.
Overall it is built heavy duty (a good thing). Some minor fitment issues in the front that can be overcome by bending some flanges 1/4 inch or so.

I also had some weatherstripping along the front edge of the bed from my hard tonneau cover which was an advantage to making a good deal. Others may need to add something there. It could be ok without as there is a heavy rubber seal on the bottom of the canopy all the way around.
Too soon to say what I’d change. Overall I think it is nearly what I expected and the function will overcome any flaws I find along the way.
