Rocker and lifter replacement.

Upon removal of a pan head bolt it snapped off in the head. It's not a clean break. I'm trying to drill it out to use a bolt remover. If I can't get it out I'm going to drill and tap new threads.
If I have anymore problems with this motor I'm going to install a new v8 and transmission.

A good center punch and lefthanded drill bit are your friends here.

My engine started to sound like a jack-hammer.
Intake rockers were good,intake lifters bad.
Exhaust rockers were good i did replace some of them for a little bit of wear,exhaust lifters were bad. Replaced all lifters. Some of them were so bad i could not push them down by hand.
I'm at 51,869 miles.

Tomorrow I'm going to buy a set of either cobalt or carbide drill bits. My mild steel drill bits won't make a dent in this bolt.

Bolt is probably an alloy. Drill slow with steady pressure, plenty of lube.

I doubt you would get an answer, but you might ask Benny with @AllMoparParts.com if he has the specs of the bolt to see what it's made of.

Dodge had already replaced the intake cam back in March 15,2023. I had asked them if the rockers and lifters were good. They said they were in good working order.
I remember when I got home from the dealer I popped the hood open and I found the oil cap and radiator tank cap off. The dealer is 87 miles from my house so, I'm unsure if that is how the problem started.

Now that I have sun light outside I have an even bigger problem. Intake cam in the back heavily gouged about 3/16 of an inch. From that deep of a gouge I don't think they replaced the intake cam at all. I have the paperwork but I don't know how to prove if they did the work or not.

I’d put it all back together and drive it to the dealer….. have them put you in a loaner, and let them take the several weeks it will take and repair it.

Just got done after 5 days of work that a dodge mechanic screwed up. Replaced both intake and exhaust cams, cam exhaust phaser, reset timmimg,along with oil change. Both of the cams had pitting all through out the lobes. The exhaust cam phaser key was broken. The bolt for the exhaust cam phaser was so tight that it wasn't torqued to spec.
