Threw this review together on this awning. Overall Ive really liked this thing. It is really quick to set up and also put away. The lights are pretty killer as well. I did get a small comparison shot between it and the "big wing". Anyhow, figured I would share.

Dang that timing. Literally looking at this the past week was watching videos earlier today. The ovs is nice but at like 2x the weight. Thank you for throwing this up.

Ha!
I know people like it but it wasn't for me.
At one point 3 of us were trying to put it away and it still was fighting us. Lol
This thing is a breeze and the lights are so nice.

Yep...I do have the OVS one and yes...its much heavier and bigger.

I can say this, the folks at OVS are pretty cool...they helped me out a bunch when mine broke (my fault) and super helpful. Also...the OVS has a much larger coverage (goes to the front of the jeep not just the rear doors.) but that is also what makes it much larger and heavier.

But if you want light and...lights...this RN one looks fantastic

Nice review. Thought I needed the larger size awning, but from your review, I think the smaller one will work. I'll sacrifice square inches for ease of use. Probably grab the OVS one though. I like the attached legs rather than having to carry and store the legs separately. Also, is that normal for the rear arm (tailgate) to sag like that?

edit: Just put an order in for the OVS 270 LT.

Look at the OVS 270 LTE. I just bought it within the last month for a camping trip to TN and it was great!

Went with it bc it was half the weight and at least 18” shorter relative to all of their other offerings and still provides 70 sq ft of coverage.

I think its mostly because i have it mounted so low and dont have an ideal tension tie off in the back. (I just got that leitner rack not all that long ago)
