Running right?

I have a 2023 Mojave hardtop 3.6 with 2" AEV lift, 35x12.5 Nitto Recon's at 35psi. Light foot, run 65% on highway 60-65mph, hard foldable bed cover. Am averaging 14.1 mpg. No mountain driving. I see people with similar set ups stating they are getting between 18-20mpg average? If those averages are correct, then something seems "off" in my truck?

12,000 miles - If 14.1 mpg is normal/expected with my set up, then I won't be concerned.

Are you remote starting often? It totally kills the average MPGs. I'm getting similar MPG in a diesel because I'm constantly remote starting it.

How long have you had it? The winter gas blend kills my MPG every year. Over the summer months I get 18-ish on the hwy, 16 MPG average. Right now my average MPG on the dash is 13.5.

Those people are lying that they're getting 20 mpg on 35's with a lift on the highway. At best they're just looking at the instant read out and seeing it some times be that high and say thats what they get, but yeah, no.

Edit: Also what was mentioned above about winter gas, my MPG's really took a nose dive on the winter blend this year.

idle time counts against your avg. I get 19 highway at 70 with 33s. i get 15-16 highway with 37s at 60. so depending on how you drive 14 with 35s is well within reason. a lot of 35s weigh more than 37s because they generally have more plys. rotational mass is what gets ya. My old 35" Kenda Klevers were insanely heavy. 73lbs stated, 80 lbs weighed. My MT Baja Boss ATs 37x12.5 are listed at 80, weighed in at 79. drastically different size tire, same amount of mass. So depending on your entire wheel and tire assembly you are probably right at maximum efficiency and your truck is fine.

yeah ain't no way anyone getting 20 with 35s unless they got deisel and its a light af 35 too.

don't they up the ethanol content to compensate for colder denser air in the winter? I found some ethanol free gas the other day and i was shocked how much better mpg and range i got. 390 miles on a single tank!

yeah ain't no way anyone getting 20 with 35s unless they got deisel and its a light af 35 too.

The diesel is definitely a different animal. I average 21.5-22.5 mpg on 37s with mine.

My wife’s JLU on 35s averages 15-15.5 on most days. She’s in the gasser v6. If we take trips I can sneak into the 16s with it. Best I’ve done on a 200 mile trip is 18.1, but for the most part it stays in the 15s.

Oh trust me I know. In California I still have to smog check every 2 years. If I wasn’t in a state that did that it would be on for sure. Plus 300hp/500tq at the wheels… ?

Part of me does miss the fuel economy when it was stock. 28-29 average was just insane.

it ain't cheap. paid 4.22 a gal for it. but it was the first time I've seen it years so i decided F it, wanted to see if there was a difference. a greater amount of ethanol (33%) is required in the chamber to achieve the same burn as straight up gasoline. so the higher the ethanol mix the less efficient the fuel. so logically i figured straight up gasoline could net me 7% or more better fuel economy over 10-15% pre mix 87 at most pumps.

I have a 22 sport with max tow. 2.5 Clayton lift and 35x12.5 Toyo rt trails. I’d say I average about 14.5 to 15.5. No mountains here. I have not seen 17mpg since the lift and tires.

They add butane, and yes, it reduces your mpg by about 10%.
