Rusty cowl bolts

Anyone else have rust stains forming around thier cowl bolts? Or is it just because it has rained non stop here in central Florida for the last 6 months? I'm going to take them out this weekend and coat them with epoxy paint or something....

I would spray some Fluid Film on them let it sit a few hours then wipe off the excess leaving a thin film.

I am having the same problem and asked at the dealership today and they say it is normal You got to be F***G Kidding me. I called Jeep Customer Service.
I hate these attitude, I bet that if I were about to sign the paper to buy new they will go over head to "fix" it.

It is no different than the same like bolts in the TJ and JK. Three plus years is about when they will start showing rust and even quicker if they have been remove and put back on.

Like someone else mentioned, I just dap them with fluid film or similar when they start to show.

Remove them and send them to me and I'll replate them in black zinc. Then do your fluid film.

If a person didn't want to go that far, I'd at least use a rust converter on the bolts first, then do fluid film (and make sure they were well sealed all around, even under.
