Hey guys, was happy to be a new gladiator owner, drove it twice and already had a red light runner come and t-bone it. Luckily no heavy injuries, if I was in any smaller car would have been worse. What do you all think, is it fixable or write off? Looks like frame damage.

Im certainly no expert but that does look like it may be frame damage, combined with a strike hard enough to deploy air bags. You insurance may write it off. If they do Id try to strip it for anything with resale value before they do.

painted fenders
Hardtop
LED lights?
perhaps the radio
Ect.

gut that thing like your one of the sand people from starwars.

Sorry OP, judging from the airbag deployment this will likely be a write off and you’ll be getting a new vehicle. I’m sorry.

Ummm…. That’s a good way to commit insurance fraud. It doesn’t work like that. At all.

What do you think happens to a vehicle after an insurance company totals it? I’m asking because I feel like you think it just goes to the crusher.

A totaled vehicle does just end up in the crusher. Insurance gets paid by a scrap yard and depending on the scrap yard it gets parted out a la pullapart or just crushed.

Used to deal in this daily at pull a part and u pull and pay.

They go to insurance auctions or parted out and then crushed. You can’t take off non aftermarket parts or aftermarket parts without replacing them with OEM parts.

Unless you own it out right then you can do what you want with it. If you have a note on it or it's collateral in a loan then it would be insurance fraud. If you just got a personal loan and bought it then you can strip it down.

Looks like you where in the right vehicle at the right time. The body and frame made and excellent crash bar. I would hope it would be totalled, but not the end of the worl if it is not, these are built to bounce on rocks all day and have a pretty decently strong frame and suspension. Should not be to hard to make it like new again.

some companies dont care when the vehicle is totaled. some do. talk to your insurance adjuster and theyll tell you if its okay or not.
