Short story- my sisters dogs got loose, she needed help finding them. Her neighbor has a pit that is loose. When I got there the dog jumped all over my truck and scratched the absolute hell out of it. It's a black truck so it shows really bad. It's mostly on the drivers side doors, some of the scratches are past the black.
It's too bright out to get pictures but here are the best examples I could get. Both doors have these all over them:

Sorry this happened OP, it always hurts. If you run your finger nail across them, does your nail get completely caught?

I would wash with soap and water. Then head to the auto parts store and purchase a polish from a reputable brand and hit it with a micro fiber towel and the polish. Unless the dog sat there and intentionally scratched at the same spots, I doubt it got past the clear coat… or at least in too many places.

Turtle Wax scratch and swirl removal. Put some on a micro Fiber towel and in a circular motion use a lot of pressure then let it dry for a few minutes then polish it out and see what happens. Don’t worry it will not harm the clear coat

thats kinda what happened.
He jumped on as soon as I got there. I got him to go away. I went up in the woods to look for lost dogs and wife and kids were in the truck. The dog kept jumping to get to my girls in the truck. My wife yelled at the neighbor that she cant let her dog just jump on peoples vehicles. She said "sorry." she was drunk and seemingly a low life.
Ill do what you said soon and see what I get.

Might get lucky with a medium polish by hand. If you know someone with a orbital polisher I would go with something light and a heavy cutting pad.

do you guys have a product suggestion?
in other words: "Go buy this ______."
Menzerna 1K on an orange pad followed by 2500 on a black pad. Skip anything with “scratch remover” in the name, garbage for a scratch like that, none cut enough. Also, will be near impossible by hand. Save the $400 a detail shop would charge to correct that whole panel and gear up if you don’t have a random orbital.

I had a few nasty scratches on 1 of my older vehciles from a run in with a pillar (side swiped it). I went to Ziebart and asked if they could maybe do something about it. Guy had an orbiter(?) I think and he got it out in about 5 minutes. He said to just give them like $10 because it was really nothing lol, that may be worth a quick try.

My solution would be to wheel it until it blends but for an actual fix, Nu Finish rubbing compound is the best I've used and was stellar at getting scratches out for me in the past. Follow it up with a good polish and I've seen this exact situation completely disappear... just depends on how deep those scratches are and with how hard my white paint is, I think you'll be fine.

My dog did the same thing to my JTO. Used Meguiar's ScratchX to remove the scratches. Might work for you.
